With the quiet clutch mod I still get the jingle with the lever pulled in, but not the clatter when poodling through traffic or sitting at lights in neutral. I have a theory that the clutch will last longer as the plates aren't rattling back and forth so much on and off throttle.
I just looked on ebay.....look at these, Motorize are selling friction plates for £45 + pp. Steel are same. That's about 1/2 price from a few months back. I read somewhere that these plates (newfren) are same manufacturer as oe. When I got a set, I got 8, 1 extra for QC mod? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ducati-74...64?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item2a288d2144
I agree, give's me a right headache and wears me out ....Especially if yr in the garage trying to tune the fecker! As soon as you do the clutch mod or get a "wet" bike you can actually hear the lubbly zorst note.... Next time you have your clutch pack out fire the bike up..... It'll make a believer out of you!
i have 3 Dukes and one has a wet clutch thats lovely I love the other 2 bikes but not the dry clutch cacaphony
Well, I have to say I like the sound, the Termi's are the sound when moving but yo don't want to sit at the lights revving like a dick. So to me the rattle is the stationary music.
I'm very excited ... ( sad I know ) I have the first part for the mod.. The engine casing I hope. Out of curiosity what baskets / combination is the loudest rattliest .. ( apart from strapping tambourines to my legs as well ). I can't hear and have tinnitus so to hell with it lets have it very loud This is my dream come true mod you see.
Ummm.... My 2010 multi has a wet clutch and STILL sounds like the big ends have gone! I would pay very good money to have the bike (which I absolutely love!) not sound like it was going to self destruct in less than a 100 miles!!
I like my Ducati because it makes noises like no other bike, looks like no other bike, rides like no other bike. Its like saying you wouldn't take Cindy Crawford home with you because of her mole. On most it would be an eyesore, but on the right woman, in the right place you couldn't imagine her any other way.
It's making an awful mess of her lawn. Or maybe it's a gopher. Then again, let's not make a mountain out of it.
