Wheels

Discussion in 'Supersport (2016 onwards)' started by Swiss T, Sep 2, 2019.

  1. I read that the wheels from an 1198 will fit the SS; a straight swap.

I have one so thought I would see how they looked. The rear is a straight swap & I like the 190 rear.

I haven't done the front but I understand I just need to swap the discs over.

I think I prefer black wheels on the SS so will get another 6" rim from a 1098/1198.

  2. That looks lovely, I am MEGA surprised though that they fitted the 'big' axle to the Supersport and not the smaller one as fitted to the 848/Hypermotard etc. I think maybe future planning for a larger engine bike perhaps.

Anyway personal view but I think it looks bang on with the gold wheels, and have always loved that design.

  3. Gold! Enough said.

  4. You're not helping! o_O

I mean I had just talked myself into the black......

  7. Mate - Looking at the picture you are halfway there. You just need to remove one wheel and exchange it.
PS. Its not the beautiful rear one!

  9. Is it me or does that pic make the bike look stretched out?

  12. Thought it was going all ‘Easy rider’ for a minute! :D

  13. Both fitted. I know these aren't really gold, but they are growing on me. My 1198 is coming off the road for a while anyway.

  14. I briefly took the SS out for a short run with the 1198 wheels & liked they way it felt as well as looked. In the end I felt guilty hobbling the 1198 so swapped them back :D

Then slid off the SS on a left hander; can't explain it. The road was dry etc & I was only plodding; there was some fine gravel around.

Only a slow low side but it has caused quite a lot of damage :(

  17. Thanks fellas. It looked light at first so I had every intention of fixing it without going through the insurance, but after looking more closely, something looks off alignment wise. Waiting on the insurance co to start the process; never had a claim before. :bucktooth:

  18. Crap!! No good dude... At least you are ok ..
