Picked Her Up Today

Discussion in 'Hypermotard' started by hyperdildo, Sep 28, 2019.

  1. Here’s my new whip already covered in shit from the rain and tractor goo that I’ve been riding through, done 120 miles so far on her this morning and thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. What a great machine these are and make you smile like a loon. I know they are not everybody’s cup of tea but dang they are fun to ride! First job was to put it in sport mode, turn wheelie control off, turn abs down and attempt to run bike in under 6000 rpm lol

  14. Too right. He earned the No. 1 and wore it with pride. :) :upyeah:

None of this "46" or "93" marketing rubbish to sell some flags. I did have hope for Jorge when he wore the No. 1 made out of his JL initials for a season, but he succumbed. Nicky did it the right way, but maybe because he thought it might not happen again. :) :upyeah:

  15. @Robarano
I think your find a high percentage of racers just might be a little bit superstition hence why they retain their chosen race numbers, just a thought:thinkingface:

  16. Pete tried to sell me your PX this afternoon at Blade. I said, was that Dildo’s old ride?
    He just looked......bemused

Congratulations on the new bike and on the quickest de-cat in history.

BTW. I tried to sit on the lowest Hyper. No chance that’s going to happen.

  17. High percentage? What high percentage?

Well, I think it's the wrong thought. :no_mouth: It's a recent phenomenon in the marketing driven world. Whether a driver / rider retains their title or not, they can keep "their" number. They can't keep number "1" if they haven't earned it. Now Rossi might be suspicious and prays to his foot peg and pulls his undercrackers out of his arse while riding down the pit lane every time he gets on his bike, but it's branding, no more, no less. There's a lot of t-shirts to go in the skip if you keep changing your number.

The only example I can think of pre-Rossi was Sheene in 1977 (But Barry is excluded because he had the coolest number in the world and he was probably too busy shagging to tell anybody to change it at the end of 1976 :grinning:)

Hamilton does it, Senna did not.

Rossi does it, Rainey did not.

Marquez does ir, Schwantz (Who was so synonymous with No.34 that it's now retired) did not

Lorenzo (mostly) does it, Doohan did not.

Prost, Hakkinen, Stoner, Schumacher and the list goes on, did not do it.

£30 for a flag. Nice little earner if you can get it.

  18. Should have said you was going
Over I’d have met ya instead of doing 120 miles then decatting my bike lol
    How
Much was he asking for my old bike then?

  19. Didn’t ask, just laughed.
