Abba Skylift Thoughts...

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by KevB, Oct 17, 2019.

  1. I am looking to buy the ABBA Skylift stand but am just wondering if there is risk of damage to frame paintwork where the lift adaptors insert into the swing arm pivot inset in the frame tube. I assume the weight is taken on the actual swing arm pivot bolt and the adaptor and the adaptor does not touch the insides of the frame tube. It will be used on a 916 and MTS 1260S. Any thoughts appreciated. Cheers, Kev.

  2. I'm pretty sure @Exige has one & I can't imagine he would use it if it damaged his vast collection of bikes that fill all the rooms in his house!

  3. Tapered end of fitting kit fits into swinging arm spindle it doesn’t touch the frame.

  4. I think the fact that you're hanging your lovely machine off it answers my question. Thanks for the input. Kev.

  5. Yip, got 2, one for display and one for working on. You can only damage anything if you don't use it properly I guess.

  6. I assumed it would be fine, but aways worth checking. I am at the age where crouching down and bending for any length of time just ruins my back and feet and takes all the pleasure out of routine jobs - and I think this will certainly help. Plus it looks cool... :grinning:

  8. Best tool that I ever bought. Use it on the Supersport 939 and the wifes Monster 821. No risk of damaging anything at all. It only takes a couple of minutes to connect to the bike and lift it.
