I'm thinking about putting them on my 848, is anybody using them or have used them? They seem to make more sense than the Diablo Rosso Corsa on the road, or do they? Thanks
I have them on my 748 and love them, had corsas on before and like you I thought that with the harder center tread they would be better for the road, the corsas do tend to square off after a while. Steve
Cheers Steve, Im so nearly convinced they're the right ones for me, but I thought I'd ask for peoples personal experiences of them.
I thought exactly the same as you. Just fitted them to my Multy1200. excellent. Not done too many miles yet, but have done a track day and were perfect. Could be the best mix of road and track...
Yeah, I had them on my Aprilia RSV and got on ok with them, but hadn't even considered them for the 848.
I think I'll be going for these on the S4RS next - there are nothing but glowing reports for them as a road tyre, and even the CSS instructors use them on the track R1s. Rosso Corsas were excellent [on my GSXR] but they do square off quickly if you do any reasonable road miles. That being said, they were superb on a very wet trackday at Silverstone.
I've ordered a set today, I managed to get them for just under 200 quid for the pair from a supplier on pirelli's cash back list, so hopefully should also be able to get 25 quid back too..... See how I get on.
Well that's them delivered this morning, just need to pick the bike up n get it home to get them put on now. Thanks to C & J Wilson (Bikespeeduk) for the rapid delivery. I'll let you know how I get on when they're fitted......
intrested to hear your thoughts mate as im gonna be needing some for the monster soon. And these are my first choice
I'll let you know as soon as they're on Dom, but if you are thinking about them, buy a pair before the 31st from a registered dealer (like C & j Wilson) and you'll get a claim form to claim £25 back from pirelli. Makes them a bit of a bargain..... Anth
Yeh i saw them on ebay from them at £200 -less the £25. Maybe i hould buy them now, and stick them in garage until needed.
Just make sure the supplier is one of the ones on Pirelli's list on their website, as that is the only place you can get the voucher from. You just fill it in and send the receipt with it, job done apparently!
It's the same place that you got yours from. Think I might buy some as at £175 plus fitting they are cheap. My supercorsas were £270.
may get a pair for the SS... was set to get Power Pure's - until I found that they dont do a 170/60...
Oh.....when I got home the other night and was going through my post the nice Mr. Pirelli had already sent me the cheque for the £25 cash back.....now I just need to ride them for more than a 100 yards......
Now have a Rosso II on the front of my carby - really rather good! Just a bit bummed that my new Italian tyre for my Italian bike is "Made in Germany"
vorsprung durch technik as the Germans would say, or 'progress through technology' as in English. Or should it be progress through cheaper manufacturing in Germany?
I had tried a few different types of pirelli on my 848 but IMHO power pures work really well with the 848, feels like the handling is slightly more sharper with them. needless to say I just fitted another set last week
