Does anybody have any experience of Grand Seiko? I have to say, I love this watch. To buy new, it's Rolex money though.
T'internet says you should never pay full retail and that the GS is a better watch than the Rolex because what you pay is going on components not on maintaining a brand name. Andy
It also says that Elvis is still alive. GS is a great watch, attention to detail is fanatical. Datejust is a great watch too. You pays your money and takes your choice.
If I buy, it'll be used. They do depreciate unlike most Rolex's and they can be picked up at decent money. They look to be a cracking watch.
If you’re hankering for a mechanical watch, as capable as a Kinetic is there is a difference. In lots of ways the Kinetic is superior.
My Manager told me last week that he's been saving for a Rolex Explorer 1 with leather strap, but he can't find a mint one with box/papers for under £5k
One night, a man on his way home happened upon a drunk, down on his hands and knees searching for something under a streetlight. The man asked the drunk what he was looking for so diligently and the drunk said he had tripped and his Rolex wristwatch had broken loose from his wrist. The man, being a kindhearted soul, got down on his hands and knees and began assisting the drunk looking for his watch. After about ten minutes without any success, the man asked the drunk exactly where he tripped? "About a 50 yards up the street," the drunk said. "Why then," the man asked the drunk, "are you looking for your watch here if you lost it 50 yards up the street?" "The light is a lot better here."
Eeeekk I was looking at this. But it's in Americaland. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Grand-Se...113893&hash=item2885e0bcac:g:9SUAAOSwHmNdjSoE
Substantially down the ladder from the grand, I finally got myself the SKX007 delivered before heading off on this work trip. Appreciate they've been done to death but for a £200 watch and the pretty reasonable mod scene allowing some nice aftermarket parts (ceramic bezel inserts etc) I quite fancied one as my 'wear it and forget it' type watch. Plus I'll be going to Oz with the family over Christmas so it's less money to worry about going to beaches, pools and that type of stuff. I work quite closely with Epson so wonder what their staff buy allows them access to, presumably any Seiko could be on offer but whether that beats discount from the AD I don't know
Had a GS for a few years, sold at a profit ... decent from memory , so buy right and won’t depreciate Niche market , compared to Rolex , but plenty of buyers , not enough watches and as said above is far superior to a DJ Still have a Seiko 6309 .. first watch i serviced myself .
