I did think about this option as my brother in law calls his evening meal “supper” but he lives in that there poncy London.
When I was young, farmworkers, dustmen and coal delivery men; ie manual workers, would up and about at 5am, have had a very early sandwich and a cup of tea; followed by a 9 or 10am breakfast; dinner at midday; and tea at 5pm, followed by supper at 8pm......off to bed by 9pm.
It’s both depending where you are and who with Breakfast dinner tea for me Breakfast lunch dinner is used amongst my friends who live away from me
Thanks Terry, This is clearly a much needed poll and addresses a real and current divisional problem! Well done.
If I'm talking with my partner it's breakfast / lunch / dinner and she's from Glasgow. If I say tea she thinks its a cuppa. Otherwise its breakfast / dinner / wine
There's only two meals a day, breakfast and dinner early evening. Coffee and lashings of tea inbetween.
