Hello, Heading to Austria skiing with the family and some friends. We're finding it difficult to arrange a transfer from Salzburg airport without having to take out a mortgage! Would any of you fine Ladies and Gentlemen have any recommendations?? Thanks, Tomo
Austria hire cars are very expensive (Vienna Airport) - specifically if you take them outside of Austria.. I used to do the trip London - Vienna - drive to Hungary... now I get collected by a local (Hungarian) taxi and dropped back at the end of the trip less than half the cost of the rental. If I rent and stay in Austria its not too bad if you prebook using some of the online search tools... my USA trip now was half the cos using one of teh search tools - compared to direct with Hertz or Avis... still collected car at Avis..
Often good to check with the hotel you are staying at....they might get you a good deal through friends or local company. Also check trains - worked for me one year when I struggled with costs
I’m interested in this as we are going to Zell Am See next year (first time we’ve been anywhere other than Morzine for the past 14 years) as one of the lads has a friend who has an apartment there. So we’re flying to Salzburg and we were considering getting the train to Zell.
