  1. first bit first, if you do then read their terms and conditions, your sample becomes their's to do with as they wish :D

    Right that bit over with

family dna testing, I've seen the adverts and often think, shit why not, it's only a giggle but the bit holds my worried gene is suddenly i might get a mad scotsman turn up at me door saying "alright bruv" or another might turn up and say oi your my dad (unlikely)

Has anyone used one, plus's and minus's when you did? If you haven't, whats making you think, not for me?

  2. Absolutely not, never, no. I wouldn't if they offered £100k to get it.

  4. I did a dna paternity test for my son so he could prove his lineage and then get an EU passport. The kit was sent to my doctors on my behalf but he thought it was for him and got quite a surprise, until he read the instructions. Best laugh they'd had at the clinic for ages he reckons...

  10. A very dangerous minefield to wander in to .....
.. emotional and psychological bombs that have lain undisturbed for decades .

What starts out as a bit of "family fun" can sometimes end in utter misery ,
for many people ( even a few murders , over in the USA ) .

  14. I read in Billy Connolly's recent book that he had had one (being famous and stuff) and they said he was descended from peasants all the way back to Galway. He was quite pleased but the lady giving the result was surprised as most people seem disappointed that they are not some sort of fekkin royalty :D Apparently some woman was upset that she was descended from someone called 'Fanny Kissing' to which Billy said 'what's wrong with that? It's one of my hobbies' :joy:
