  1. 'Cos I can't get my effing chain off without breaking it (I have an ally swingarm to fit and will obviously need to make sure it is aligned correctly and test it).........I might if I could find the right riveting tool for sensible money....assuming I have found the correct rivet link.

  2. Shazaams info on gearing.

  3. A ball pein hammer and metal block make a good riveter.

  4. Nope, nothing for me there either final -edition!

    I'm after a 14t front and a 43 rear!

They do the 14f, chain isn't a problem, but the 43t rear is!

  5. I'm fully aware of that, supposing I can find the correct link.........

......but with some of the DIY riveting I have seen, I would be happier to trust a spring link......they never failed under race conditions with our outfits.

PS......Am I glad I decided to stay with the stock sprockets (15/37).............I just noticed the footnote at the bottom (where else would a footnote be?) of your chart.......and checked the OEM chain size.....a 520 which is what I have.

  6. Thanks for that final_ edition .

Have looked on their site and sent them an e mail.

I have just looked at my bike and I have a 525 pitch chain fitted with 14t f -38t r that I presume is original, I haven't changed anything since I bought the bike with 5k miles on it.

  7. John, also AFAM list a 520 set, rear with a range of 36 to 43, part number for the 43 is 51613-43 front is part number 52614- with 14 or 15 teeth options. They specify a 98 link chain. You will need to get their carrier of course. I can vouch for the quality and AFAM was the supplier for Foggies championship bikes. Available from Bike Torque Racing in Somerset (where I got mine), FWIW Deamon Teaks do them as well

Many thanks for the info' much appreciated. I didn't realize that I would need a carrier if I wanted to modify the sprockets. I have indeed now found all the parts I would like using your info', but they are too expensive for me-in the region of £243 as opposed to sticking with the original, that I can get for £111!

  9. Theres loads of rears on the bay. No new carrier needed . DUCATI 999 rear sprocket | eBay Not for the renthal ones anyway.

  10. Excellent news , thanks very much for that. Not had any experience of changing sprockets! So this sprocket will fit on the o.e.m Ducati carrier ? Is that the same for all Renthal sprockets?

  11. Well thats the exact one I have .
