  1. Circa 1957-59 Omega Seamaster.
The original strap would have been leather.
Doesn't currently work, Omega quoted me £600 to refurb it - which I will do one day as it was my Dad's.

  2. The multi dial ones are generally quartz and battery powered and will have a "tick" second hand. The plain dials can be and often are automatics.
I prefer the sweep second hand of auto's personally and have several (5 I think lol) Seiko's that do that. ( I quite like Seiko's :D )
I also have a multi dial Tag that is quartz...it's horses for courses ;)

  3. I'm currently wearing a Bremont MB2 (Orange chassis). I love it, much prefer it to my Breitling I had before.

  6. Thank you. It's actually the 'Kermit' - the 50th anniversary Sub. Subtle differences like this has black dial and slightly different green where as the Hulk has both green dial and bezel along with a few other things. :bucktooth::p

  9. Not quite sure that’s right. Chronographs are normally a showcase for engineering, El primero for example being the first automatic chrono, some grande complications using 9 subdials.
To say it’s normally battery powered is perhaps a little misleading?

  10. Correct. Quartz (battery) watches weren't a thing on a mass scale until the 70s and chronographs have been around since the early 1800s. If it is a quartz chrono it is typically cheaper but a chrono is no more likely to be battery than mechanical unless you're looking at specific brands. For example if it is a casio it's going to be battery and if it's a Rolex Daytona, it's mechanical.

  11. I’m still happy with my twenty eight year old Animal W004 Chrono.

  12. Whilst the Daytona has become perhaps the most famous of Chronographs, it was the Zenith movement that made it all possible.

  13. Thinking about it, the grey one is actually a spare one I bought when my black cased one with similar face and bezel to this went in for a service.

  14. I do like my watches and money no object I’m sure I’d have quite a collection (after the big house, huge garage and assortment of motorbikes)

I have a couple Tags, the night diver I’ve had for nearly 30yrs, you don’t see many so I like the exclusivity but mostly wear the Targa, like it’s classic look (and the battery is flat on the night diver )

  15. Christian https://watchguy.co.uk does great work whilst keeping the patina of lovely old timepieces . It won’t be the same watch if you get it refurbed at Omega , they’ll replace everything , dial , hands , case back etc

  16. Wanted one of these for ages. Got this when I went to US. UK prices take the piss.... shocker....
