  1. 3 year battle with Alzhiemer's before it got him, that must have been hard on him and his loved ones.

  2. Without his goal we'd have lost the match/cup so topman.RIP

This country is football mad but we've not won the world cup for 53 years, with all the money involved what the feck is going on.

  3. I’ve just heard Neil Peart has died, incredible drummer and lyricist of Rush. Sadly Cancer takes another legend. My god he had more than his fair share of tragedy.
    RIP Neil.

  5. Funny you should mention his book, I’m just flicking through my copy now.
It’s years since I read it, over 50,000 miles in 14 months I believe!! I think I shall read it again, great man and a great drummer.

  12. Yesterday afternoon I heard Tom Sawyer on Planet Rock and was amazed by Peart’s drumming. Thinking to myself how technical and precise it is on that track. Only Bonham could play with more precision than him.
    Big loss

  13. Amazing Drummer amazing Guy,
Next time we get thunder I will assume it’s Just NP practising upstairs with his new band mates X

  14. My god he could play, they’ve always come across as such nice, humble people.
I listened to an interview with Geddy and he was talking about his book about bass guitars.
He mentioned contacting John Paul Jones whilst researching said book.
He said “John Paul Jones actually came round my house with his guitar!!”
He was so excited and awestruck, brilliant.

  15. A very good friend of mine was the lead sound engineer on their world tour around 2012. He said they were all likeable guys, and not at all what he has come to expect when taking these bands out on the road.

  16. Absolutely gutted with the dreadful news, 67 is no age, I read his book a few years ago and it touched me to the core.
Such a tragic loss of a hugely talented man, him & Bonzo were the very best drummers ever, and he was a fabulous wordsmith.
I hate getting to the age when all your heroes are dying.
