  1. In Lidl today , "selection box" trays of various sizes of these :-

    O rings
    Nuts with blue " anti-shake " inserts
    Grovers
    Fibre washers

I keep waiting for them to get similar trays of copper washers , but no .....

( same goes for Ducati valve shims .....:p )

  5. Please don't start me off about well nuts ..... I beg you .

My bike is infested with the little sods .
Ridiculously expensive for what they are .... I got so ticked off with buying new ones that I started renovating them in batches .... it works pretty well !

  10. It's been more than 10 years since I bought any .

The first batch probably came from Mdina Italia ( they were really good for overseas posting at the time )
Then when I lived in France I lucked onto a supplier who had them cheap ,
but nothing at all to do with Ducati or bikes .... so I bought a batch ,
then I lost the contact details ... Doh !

These days Star Twin Motors is a handy starting point for me
    ..... and having a quick look ....
this page shows well nuts as item 8 , at €1.13 each

  13. they start off fine but can become "unwell nuts" when you come to remove them, someone mentioned molegrips but doesn't always work. Depends on type but best way is to cut all the rubber off and carefully tease remaining brass nut through hole (it opens it up slightly..)

  14. Yes , I'm with you all the way on that point ....
.... but I haven't found the same thing with steel inserts .

    Not yet , anyway ....

  15. as Sev has said, those are an excellent replacement, don’t forget they crush down to a lower height once used plus what’s wrong with a slightly longer screw if you have to? To be fair, Welnuts do a really good job and nothing exists for the money that is any better. I wouldn’t use a steel equivalent unless it was stainless steel, brass is perfect for the job.

  16. Ok, but the link you provided has Brass inserts.

  17. The marine ones are 304 stainless inserts, price looks ok... they are used on canoes etc.
