Dad got a letter today claiming to be from the peoples postcode lottery telling him had won £375,000. Him with onset dementia couldn't remember if he even played it but the letter looked authentic, all the logos in the right place has a london address and is signed off by a Dr Jonathan Samuels. The letter appears very authentic but is a scam. They had a similar thing in Aberdeen last year. Where dad lives it's a retirement complex and another person got one too so they seem to be targetting oldies. If you get one but are unsure, their website has their contact number on it.
which website has their contact number on it FFS?? You need to clarify this a bit better noobie - one of the scams even I am aware of from over 10 years ago involves phoning a "number you are not accustomed to" which turns out to be "the" scam - a high tariff line where they keep you on the phone for as long as possible.
basically a small fee to release the winnings from aberdeen county council, scroll down to peoples postcode lottery https://www.aberdeencity.gov.uk/ser...ards/trading-standards/aberdeen-scam-warnings https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money...9/JEFF-PRESTRIDGE-Mother-fooled-villains.html
