  1. Our Doris the Corgi competing at crufts for the first time. Came fifth in her group which the wife was very pleased with as we've only had the dog a year and never done anything like this before.

  4. Our last chicken and both ducks were taken last night. Only a few bloodied feathers left so guessing a fox. We’ve not been on a fox run in the last 9 years we’ve been keeping fowl, so this is right out of the blue. A bit sad in the house this morning :( Andy

  5. Sorry to read that, it has happened to us before so I know how you feel. We may be picking up some ex bats tomorrow near Milton Keynes, let me know if you would like the link to the rescue people if it is not too soon.

  6. All our chickens over the years have been rescue so thanks for the offer. Milton is a bit far and yes it is a bit soon. Midge and Mush, our two ducks had raise two broods and survived all of their progeny, we’ve had them since they were a few days old and were real characters. Mush, bless him, was an Indian runner with two left feet. He could fall over a worm cast but a more faithful and loving partner for Midge you couldn’t wish for. Looks like he put up a fight though. Andy

  7. We currently have 3 chickens and 2 ducks, a Cayuga called Eric and Elliott who is a Runner. Elliott sounds as coordinated as Mush and he makes pheasants look intelligent. Intending to get 3 or 4 more rescue chickens tomorrow as we have plenty of room.

  8. Enjoy them :upyeah: Andy

  9. Well done Doris :upyeah: And congrats to you and Mrs Doggy

We had 5 qualified and entered this year. On the day, 3 didn't make the 'cut'. #4 (our Meg) is up the duff (we hope o_O), so although she was entered, we didn't take her in the ring. Our only boy Ben, got a 3rd place in Junior, so we're made up

Here's Ben (Calareto Ticket to Ride)..

  13. Just found out that the father of our boy Rufus is going to be a dad again with a Labrador bitch and we have been offered a pup. They will be Cockadors and due in April so the family are ganging up on me to get one. I’m trying to resist but ........

  16. We have a twelve year old Lab as well who’s eyesight is failing and I’m just a bit concerned that a new pup might cause him some distress so going to try and work out a way round it.

“Would you mind braking for roundabouts a bit earlier so I don’t end up in the front with you like last time???”

  19. Now..there's no 100% rule, but...very often, bringing a youngster into the house really lifts an older dog. And I agree with ExJ :upyeah:........ 2 is easier than 1 (when you aggregate the plus' and minus').
