Something you could probably never do on a modern bike. For all the technology you sometimes have to query if modern machines are really that much better, faster? yes, more refined? yes and many other improvements but not in all areas.
On a V4S, the toolkit comprises one 4mm allen key. I always carry an 11mm open-ended spanner so that I can bleed the clutch at a moment’s notice. Lesson learned from previous bikes 748R, 1098S, 1299S (worst by far for clutch woes). I usually travel with a socket for the rear wheel when abroad.
Best standard kit is on the 749r, the tool kit is velcro'd to the inside of the fairing panel. To get the fairing panel off, you need a 4mm allen key ..... the 4mm allen key is in the tool kit ...... can you see what they did there
: o D The 999S Bip has a place for the Allen key under the detachable pillion seat. Which is released by the bike key. A superior machine. : o )
Is the correct socket/type for my 2014 1200S listed in the manual? Anyone have any tips on a quality unit? Rex
Do not be tempted by one of the lightweight aluminium jobbies. Get one that can be used with a wrattle-gun.
