Hi guys Does anyone know the part number or where I can get a fuel strainer (not filter) for a 749s I’ve looked on the parts catalogue and it only shows the complete pump assembly. Cheers
Derek, the books and current fiche show it as 42540101A which I don't think fits the ST2/3 etc but the OP asked for a strainer not a filter, not sure what the strainer is however
The strainer is in the flange, below the pump to prevent bigger particles getting into the pump. It is shown in the ST parts list as a "Fuel pump filter". The ST uses the same flange apart from the fuel line fittings, and presumably the same pump. I haven't got access to my files right now so can't check. I can confirm tomorrow.
That strainer (42710031A) is not shown in any of the 749/999 books but is shown in all the 748/916/ST etc ones, not sure its the same pump assy

Yeah that’s all I can find in any pics, when you look at the fuel pump assembly, the pump sits in a plastic housing that is attached to the base plate, the strainer sits inside the plastic housing, kind of looks like a tea bag, no parts listed for it, same as the fuel pressure regulator
I can't find one for the 749/999 series anywhere either. Ducati have probably rated it as a non-service item. Even fuel filters aren't listed for many of the current models and the fuel filter hasn't been a service item since at least 2007.
Felix, just so we are all on the same page, do you have a picture of the part you are after and if not a ducati one then any bike that gives an idea of what you're after?
Looks like this, I found one on eBay of all places, not sure if it’s the right one but getting desperate an Thaught I would give it a go, can’t hurt to try, will let you all know if it fits
