I just checked heating oil prices online and currently it’s 1000 litre price is 24.89 ppl ! I can’t remember the last time it was this low - going to keep an eye on it and fill up ready for next winter when it look like it’s hit the lowest point! Now I just need to get someone to deliver me 1000 litres of diesel for the car as well and I’ll be set for a while.......
Keep an eye on prices over the next few days https://www.irishtimes.com/business...-cut-global-output-to-end-price-war-1.4227445
I paid £1.05 for diesel the other day and I think it will go lower! Then when we come out of lockdown everyone will go mad and you won’t be able to get it anywhere!
Shane we can only store 30l at home ? https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cn...ess/oil-prices-crash-storage-space/index.html
My daughter topped her tank of heating oil up in February, she checked over the weekend and the same amount of fuel now would be £100 cheaper.
That’s a fantastic price. I don’t have a clue what’s going to happen. Oil production has now been reduced but consumption is next to nothing when compared to normal standards. At that price I think I would take the 1000 litres - unless you like a gamble - then hang on and see what happens - but buy the moment there’s a whiff that the lockdown will be lifted or you see a price rise of any kind.
We can store diesel can’t we? Just not vast amounts of petrol. I’m considering getting a cheap IBC and putting it in an outbuilding - luckily I have one about 40 metres from the house, so no issue with safely storing fuels. I still think I would struggle to get someone to deliver 1000 litres to a tank that wasn’t properly bunded though so it might just be too much hassle.
I would imagine after the agreement to stop the price war, things will settle for a while, if might flutter a bit between 20p and 25p so if you buy anytime soon you're already on a winner.
couldn't you get it delivered to your bunded, then use a small pond pump to clear it into the ibc then get another delivery to the bunded?
Diesel goes off after 3-4 months of storage..unless you drive a lorry or an old Mercedes that can basically run on cooking oil I would not recommend to buy that much
Just got an email from Boilerjuice 19.39ppl now - lowest price I have ever seen. Feeling like now is the time.........
