Back Problems, Anyone Using An Inversion Table?

  1. That’s good to hear, so you don’t use it daily, only when you feel the pain or stiffness coming on ?

  2. Yep it mostly collects dust in the corner of the room.
I’d highly recommend one, you can actually hear your spine open up and crack as the pressure is released, I haven’t got in to yoga, but I’d guess this coupled with core strengthening would really help.

  3. First experiences - jury is out as has upset neck after 2 lots of 3 mins but did seem to give lower back a slight feeling of decompression. It's quite hard on the ankles (i'm approx 14 stone) making it hard to fully relax- i'm about to try Sidi motorcycle boots! also, shoulder pads can hinder full extension on model i bought. I've very low blood pressure so fine so far.

  4. Hi Chris, I’ve been using mine for a week now, yes it is hard on the ankles, ( I’m approx 17 stone and 6’3”) are you serious about the boots ?
I have the Teeter hang ups table and it’s very comfortable length wise, I have the same problem relaxing but it’s definitely making a difference to how I’m feeling,
I started on 2minutes, I’ve now gone up to 5 but will see how it goes. I did loosen the ankle clamp a bit and it seems to help.

  5. yes, serious about the boots! - it was slightly better but still not comfortable. I might try slackening the clamp as suggested, maybe mine is compromised compared to a more expensive model. I hope yours is helping, will check in after a week or so. :upyeah:

  6. What did your doctor advise?

  7. I'd also 100% agree with this. Yoga for a big amount of people can be life changing.
It's definitely worth a try for back troubles, it definitely helped me and to save the dreaded embarrassment you can just try it on YouTube first.

  8. I had knee and back issues. this fixed me.
    Pain Free by Dr Egoscue.
The simple explanation is that (through injury or just life) you started using the wrong muscles to do stuff. He will teach you how to stretch and use the correct muscles through correct motion.
I used to do 15? service calls a day. It wasnt really the work or kneeling crouching or whatever... It was the twist and lift on one leg getting out of the car. Once your body is trained to use the wrong muscles it stays that way until you re train it.
Cheap enough, and it gets delivered... cant hurt.
    The book covers nearly everything.

  9. ok, so that's a month approx.. It's not a final conclusion but pretty mixed results and sadly so far I can't say it has been worth it, not for my injuries anyway. Glad I didn't buy the £450 one. I will persevere of course, can hang for up to 10 minutes a day but the ankles are always the limiting factor.
