V4 Wet Cement Grey

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Android853sp, May 22, 2020.

  1. Back in the day I was once knocked off my bike by a very badly driven car. It was a Ford Capri painted in dull grey primer. In those days, a vehicle in grey primer was considered disreputable - a sign of poverty or incompetence.

Recently there was a brief fashion for having new expensive, high-end vehicles deliberately finished in dull grey paint. Even Ducatis! Funny old world.

  2. There's a car customising scene in Sweden where they sand back through the paint to the bodywork and soak in salt water
to get localised rusting patches. Its a bit like the relic guitar scene where you pay more for beat up looking guitars.

Maybe thats next. Custom wear and tear applied to your special edition for an extra £500.

  3. similar style to the car rat rod scene

  4. Same was said about white cars.

They were difficult to sell, even dealers offered less, as they were an unattractive proposition.

  5. Yep - liking the grey. Bit more stylish....

  9. No thanks .

  10. I think it’s nice. Bikes need to modernise with colours but to pick that over a red one? Hmmmm. Not sure.

  11. Grey is the new Black now that’s more popular than the White :upyeah: just needs some Gold tricky dicky wheels:D I would have definitely been up for a Matt White pearl V4:)

  12. It’s very VAG group, not something I think I would want. Tbh I’ve been hoping for a while that Ducati would do a metallic black bike. I think like the old 999 Nero and the 1098s

  13. That looks like a 1200gs.
    That is all.

  14. I’ll do it for less than that for you, just pay for the track day and fuel and I’ll soon have it looking secondhand for you

  19. Then white became the only colour that was free or "included" on many typical family cars. So lots more white cars were bought, and once people started seeing them everywhere, they wanted one too...

  20. Awful
