Anyone ever seen a mini or any monocoque vehicle crabbing along the road ? Like the rear is trying overtake the front .
there is a big old list as to why they did it , Sub-frame mounts gone. front or rear. Bent radius arm/ arm shafts . Body twisted or rusted.
Yes the rear on all pretty much has a toe in ( my van just been 4 wheel aligned and set to tone in) classic mini was 1/16 inch toe in but im looking at camber top to bottom of the wheel in the picture.. you dont want positive camber you want upright or a bit of negative camber...maybe its just the angle of the dangle and its not been set up yet?
I had my mums 74 850 walnut dash too. That was 1982, spent 2 years repkacin nearly every rusty oanel, not to mention rear subframe... put a 1275 stage 2 motor but left the 850 diff. Boy did it accelerate. My nate bought a new xr3 (non i) & had no advantage, apart from being a shiny fanny magnet... think he had a few successes in the back seat. Unlike oily hands me...
Minis handle until they dont....thats what mine was like anyway...! - get to a certain point pushing them mid corner no warning....then they let go...the amount of times ive ended up the wrong way around at traffic lights mid corner was comedic - great car though...sold it for 500 quid more with a failed MOT than when i bought it...
Had those moments too, downhill corners were my problem, not enough power to pull out of the corner... happy days
