1260 1260 Oem Crash Bars Instructions

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by mikeyyah, Jun 12, 2020.

  1. I bought the Ducati crash bars for 1260 but there are no instructions? If anyone has these instructions, would you mind sending it over to [email protected], please? I’d very much appreciate it.

The 1260 bars are different from the 1200 ones btw.

  2. They’re dead easy to fit, I fitted R&G to my Dvt and realised that, as you say, they’re different for 1260, from memory, slightly longer due to water pump, anyhow, if you’re struggling use the R&G or evotech guides as they’re on line and can’t be to disimilar

  3. Thanks for the tip. A friend of mine emailed me the instructions. Installed some R&G stuff as well!

  4. If anyone needs the installation instructions for the 1260, PM me and I can email them to you. File is too big too upload.

  5. Why would anyone spend thousands more for a lighter Pikes Peak with forged wheels only to laden it with Off-Road Enduro hardware and un-sprung weight?
Maybe it's me but I just don't get it.

  6. I've had a tip over once on a 15 DVT (crash bars installed) and not a scratch on her. Body parts are expensive friend.

  7. Then you had to live with damaged crash bars. This is an observation and not a criticism.
People spend thousands to lighten their bike.
In fact, you have paid £3,800 more for a lighter Pikes Peak over the "S" model only to nullify the benefit of the Ohlins Suspension and the light Marchesini forged wheels by adding pounds of un-sprung weight with those heavy axle sliders. Moreover, you have to un-bolt the thing to load the bike on the paddock stand.

£3,800 will buy you a lot of accessories with plenty left over for a PP wrap decal set. You also have insurance.
Bling is in the eyes of the beholder I suppose and skies the limit on price but I still don't get it. Sorry.

  8. Actually, there wasn't a mark on the bars. They worked great! And the great part is that you can remove them. To each his own!

  9. I've still got a right leg after my crash bars rather than my knee took the wing off a car that pulled across in front of me. I'd say I'm a fan, new MTS has had them fitted (albeit an S not a lightweight PP).
