Bike Camera

  1. If you have an iPhone 3GS/4 or 4s why not get a powered waterproof phone mount for your bike from ultimate addons. I got mine off eBay and you can use front or back camera with it.

  2. I do love Wales, a particular favorite road has to be Newtown to Crossgates.

  3. If you just want to have a play you can try one of the cheap as chips mini DV video cameras on ebay, like this for £10, plus the cost of a memory card. Quality is not that great and the microphone is rubbish.

Mini Pocket Dv Digital Video Camera Spycam Webcam Md80 Recorder Monitor | eBay

The main problem is setting them up to record what you want as there is no monitor screen to check. Mine was OK (not great quality) until it fell off and bounced down the road!

  4. That in itself is illegal. Motorcyclists MUST have CE approved eye protection on their helmet. By taking it off you they are causing you to commit a further offence.

  5. Open face lid????

  6. Was thinking of getting one of these:

Mini DVR Helmet Video Camera Action Sport Cam Camcorder | eBay

A quick question please, for anyone with one similar. Hope this makes some sense.

If you record, for example, one minute of footage in 3 twenty second segments, when you come to download it can you just download the segments you want, say, two of the three or would you get the full minute with no breaks?

Was gonna try it on my off road bike, get something like this maybe:

Contour | Stories | totalshell pre65blogspot francis barnett trials

    Cheers.

  7. Not bad, a quick question as we again on a subject. Any recommendations for editing software that will allow me to easily remove licence plate no's of other riders? PC version.

  8. Pierre 66 link you attached says 50 min sections. It means that when video reaches 50min it will close the file and start a new one. When you later download it and have for example 70 min recording you will have two files a 50min file called xxxx 1 and 20min file of xxxx 2. File seperation is done either because CPU of the camera is not that good (most likely) or on good cameras because you reach a manageable file size limit. You could have a 16GB file with recording but FFS a computer to edit it would have to be beefy at start.

  9. I still have my old camera Oregon scientific ATC camera but not HD quality which I want now. It officially supports only 4GB SD card. That gives about 2h of recording. However battery lasts for 4 to 5h so I put a 8GB card and what it did is at 4GB it started a new file.

  11. Yes. Each time you stop the camera, the movie stops, so when you upload you'll get separate segments. The camera in the link is pretty much the same as mine, and it films in 5 minute segments; so for a 15 minute movie you'd have to download 3 movies (you don't have to keep pressing record, it films continuously, but breaks the film up into 5 minute segments as it records).

  12. Mean :D

  13. Dark visors are illegal.

Plod can gather evidence if they are investigating an offence and that includes cameras / satnav.

  14. So's pissing in a dark alley, but we've all done that.

  15. Quite right......have you ever seen a turban fitted with a visor?

  16. Very true, but it goes further than that. If evidence of an offence exists but you deliberately seek to destroy or falsify that evidence in order to obstruct police enquiries, that is a further very serious offence - much more serious than the (e.g.) speeding offence you started with. So think twice; you are better off not creating evidence incriminating yourself in the first place.

  17. Or you could just crack on and enjoy yourself, be sensible about where you do your speeding, and not have to worry.

  18. no its not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ....its illegal to not wear a lid and it also must be correctly fastened however there is no legal requirement to ride without eye protection (madness) however if you have a visor fitted that doesnt allow 70percent of light through then that is a seperate offence , much like the carpark warrior gangsta's....and their blacked out windows on there 1.1 nova's .....the visor must also conform to bs4110 , also if its scratched in your line of vision they can also pull you for this .....sorry about the spout of but i instruct and this is the first thing covered , helmets and visors and the law .....muchos luuuurve

  19. sikh's are the only one by law that are not required to wear a lid
