Anybody have any experience with the stuff? Got a little project going on and torn between the sheet stuff and the loose stuff. How's the sound dampening on each?

The guys who cored out and packed my cans only ever use the loose stuff, and they're pros. However that's probably more to do with cost and ease of use rather than sound deadening. They wrapped steel wire wool around the perf tube and held it in place by wrapping cling film around it, then they put the glass in. The wire wool is there to stop the glass blowing out of the end, and the cling film burns off real quick. On mine though they didn't have much room between the tube and the sleeve so just used wire wool. It may be a little loud, haven't tried it yet.
That's very much like the sheet stuff that I've been looking at. I think that I'm going to go for the loose stuff, it's going in a 749 exhaust so I'm worry the sheet/wraparound stuffy won't fill the whole box. Thanks for your answers guys.
The acousta-fil stuff comes as a sheet but under heat becomes a loose filling. Makes for easier packing.
Chris, that stuff is similar to what I've been looking at. I was orginally going to go for something like that but was worried it wouldn't fill the box completely. Maybe it's worth doing that and a bit of loose stuff too,
The more you pack in, in theory it should be louder....... .....however using thin wire wrapping and / or wire wool to keep the packing in......it doesn't take long for wire wool to burn, rust, rot through and that gets blown out as well...... ......quilt will blow out slowly over a period of time, as will long strand mat, just takes longer...... Loose fill, well......that will come out fairly easily........don't use rockwool. I never use wire or anything that could be seriously abrasive in exhausts......only takes a puff of wind in the wrong direction down the zorst can outlet and an open valve. AL
