After last weekends trip around Scotland's west coast and the Cairngorns, this weekend it's Wales. :) :upyeah:

Just 2 of us this time over 4 days. I've taken a route through as many of the National Parks and AONB's as resonably practical. :bucktooth:

Helga now has new dancing shoes, and is ready for the off. :upyeah:

  7. If your on an eating tour - you are missing a few good biker stops for eating

Also seem to be missing road from Penderyn to Brecon - then up to Hay on Wye...

I did a total of about 10miles on A roads today, the rest were B road twisties. :)

Windy as hell today, especially in the Pennines. o_O

  11. Superb roads, stop at the owls nest bikers cafe in Llandovery, famous if you are very very hungry, portion sizes are legendary, cake slices are very nice too, would forget about Abergavenny , go from Llandovery to Brecon instead, then Bwlch, to Llangorse ( with stop at Llangorse lake and a visit to llangasty church, then go out of Llangorse to Talgarth , Hay on Wye, go to top of Hay bluff stunning view , single track road, then onwards to llanthony abbey ( stunning , with pub in the cellars) then get out on other end of valley, then towards locks garage from there and then onwards to Ross , or through the Forrest of dean towards Cheltenham ?

  12. Or from hay on Wye go towards Llandrindod Wells, Rhayader , Elan valley and dams, Devils Bridge, towards Newtown ?

  13. And the roads surrounding Bala etc

  14. You need to do both lakes around Bala and the Mach loop

  15. N
not a fan tbh. Too busy, too slow, too full of walls. Prefer mid and South Wales :upyeah:

  16. Bala is mid wales, no walls in the roads I use, 3 figure bends all over the place and some roads have fantastic forward vision for good safety at speed. A4212. A470. A483. A458 all immediately springs to mind. Mid week not busy, rode my first ever weekend there last weekend, yes bike busy in places, noted one police car only in 700 miles that long weekend.

  17. Thanks for all the suggestions on eateries. :yum

I have to say that I’m always stuffed on these trips as I don’t normally have a breakfast as a rule and a full English is kicking the hell out of me every morning. Just a light stop for a drink mid day is enough :upyeah:

  18. I may be thing of the road up to bets y coed. It’s wall lined, tree lined stiff for quite a few miles and as you get further south opens into good A roads

  19. Err, don’t want to start a war here or anything but that would be a Full Welsh wouldn’t it. Got to be careful what you order Rob - just looking out for you :upyeah:
