  1. Anyone have a water rower?

  2. Have you tried switching it off and switching it on again?

  4. Yes, I borrowed one for a month last year. Very smooth action. What is it you'd like to understand? ps they are incredibly heavy.... as they have quite a bit of water in them (at 1Kg/litre)

  5. Ah, just Googled it. I was using one on a rig a few years back. I always wanted to pop a couple of goldfish in it as it had a transparent spinny bit. Am I going to Hell?

  6. Nah , you're safe enough ..... but frogs in blenders will probably get you there .... :)

[ .... actually knew someone at uni who did that as part of her research ]

  7. I looked into one as they look very trick, but realised that for what I wanted to do a concept rower was better.

  8. Yep - got one and a lovely bit of kit. As you can see, if you want to push yourself, you can try using it vertically.

Actually it really is a good exercise machine. Nice to have the noise closer to really being on the water, rather than the fan and resistance ones. Made well and I have had mine for over 8 years and have only needed to re-seal the tank once (they supply kits to re-seal the 2 halves), as the pressure overtime causes the seals to fail, but the fix is easy.

  9. Interesting this.
I use a standard resistance rowing machine machine at the Gym(When it's open of course) but have been thinking about either a Cross trainer or Rowing machine for home.
I really like the idea of being able to store it vertically to save space whilst it's not in use.

    Nasher.

  10. Yeah the tank seal thing seems to be the only real issue ten week waiting list for a new one...

  11. I've used the flywheel + friction types and also the water-wheel types
The water ones are hands-down winners for me .....
.... they are so much closer to the effect of rowing a real boat ( ie non-linear force )

  12. ;) nice bin

I learn something everyday etc - must have hit on a good concept judging by the number of clones (top one is "Water Rower").
