  1. Feel free to disagree.

The habit that seems universal now is to hide your password when you type it into online banking and credit cards. You then mistype it but don't notice, as one '*' looks pretty-much like any other, but your online account takes great exception and threatens to lock you out, if you cock-up again. As I am the only person in this room - or , indeed, the whole house - with the front door locked and the window blind closed doing the ***** thing just makes it a pain FOR ME! THE DESPISED CUSTOMER!!!

Has it not occurred to any dimwit bank web designers that it ought to be an option? Or, am I alone in this?

I'll start a campaign of emailing every account that I log on to, to tell them that his should be an option! They ask you if you are on a shared computer so as to not remember your account name, so surely somebody has the sense to see that this is not always necessary!

Oh, OKAY. Answered my own question!!!

  2. Can’t you use your thumb print to log in
You can on iphone now you can use your face too :D

  3. Your whole face, or just a nose print on the button?

  4. I think that you can on SOME of the accounts on a mobile but I use my PC and it doesn't do such trickery!

  5. Time to get a new phone?

  8. If you're on a computer (or a mobile, actually) get yourself a password manager. Some you pay for, the one I use (SafeInCloud) is free with 256bit encryption (this is good). Put your login/password in there and install the plugin on your browser. It will populate the login fields like magic! All you have to remember is one password for the password manager. Make it a good one, and don't lose it. An autolock feature will demand that password after a certain amount of time, just to make sure it's still you. It's configurable to whatever you feel happy with.

  9. I know the passwords and if I could be arsed I could type them in in (say) notepad and cut and paste them in. It's just more work!

  10. I disagree wholeheartedly, not that I’ve read the above, simply because you gave me the option.

  11. my last phone was set up for my print on everything that could be because I find it frustrating having to put a password in all the time
For example I have upgraded and I don’t have a finger print now and I had to log into one of my accounts and it I have to register my new phone to it arrrrghhhh I don’t no my ID, search everywhere for the details of when I set it up 12 + years ago nope can’t find the letter anywhere (I have mail in a box ;D)
I have to involve my son now because I don’t know what to do, he says mum you just do this and this, yeah but son how do I use Face ID I can’t remember passwords :sob:
Mum it’s easy listen to me, ok ok , right do what the instructions say press can’t find log ID, me (oh I see it now) oh how cool is that they can send it me :), my boy that’s it mum now put your password in, me I can do that  now what do I do, can you remember you second password, 2/6/9
Now we are in and can set up Face ID
Me oh that was easy once you know how as I’m sat irritated from the stress of it all.
Before a cancer diagnosis and being on meds all this stuff was easy ish now I get frustrated with stuff
Please developers make it more simple for us that get frustrated easily :)

  12. I don't change 'phones very often, partly because i just don't want to go through all the bollox of changing everything and
Re entering endless passwords(adding capital letters/ add symbol/ add number/ passwords are not the same) and
    Memorable names,
    Pin numbers,
    Setting up finger prints
    Mothers maiden name
    First school
First line of address with postcode
    Account number
    Email address

    Blah Blah Blah

  13. Its been ok till now
Now I have no home button and I had to update all the apps to use them and log into everything again
At least all my accounts are safe I guess
    Safe even from me :D

  14. So how do you get home?

  16. You are not "selling" this idea to me!

  17. I can log into my bank account online (on my PC) but once logged in, the page hangs and I can't use any function, so I can't see transactions, send a message, negotiate through other functions etc......It is only with the bank website (but not the credit card site); no other websites are affected at all. I don't use my phone for banking, neither do I intend to.

  18. If its iphone (don’t know about Android) go into settings and then passwords (assuming you save them on phone) it will tell you which passwords are duplicates and if they haven’t been changed since a data breach.

(I had 95 warnings on mine).

  19. Once again, a password manager will help. Install it on all your devices and log them in. Your password database in the cloud so it automatically syncs with all your devices. Update or add a password in one place, it's available everywhere you need it - phone, laptop, tablet etc. With a new phone simply download the password manager, sign in to it, and that's it All your passwords are there.

  20. Make sure you have the latest browser and clear your cookies if you know how to do that. Alternatively, try a different browser and see if that solves the problem.

Not everyone wants to use the phone for banking but with multi-factor authetication and biometrics they are very secure.
