They are not 'Machines' so have no place alongside the motorcycles. Stick in 'Speaker Corner' where all the contentious crap should be. Andy
The police are not enforcing the law regarding these machines and the morons riding them. A local woman was knocked over by one on a pavement, and seriously injured. The rider a student from the university, got a caution!
enough bellends on the road without unleashing people on these that wont pay attention to the situation they will no doubt find themselves in
I witnessed one of these e-scooter idiots on weds in Leeds centre. On a one way street, we’re two car lengths behind a bmw x1. Scooter tw@t darts from left hand side, through gap in front of us and down drivers side of x1...... just as x1 is turning right! Scooter bloke was thrown like a rag doll. Adrenaline must have kicked in and he jumped up having a go at poor car driver! A crowd then gathered. This is in the dark, with zero lighting on the scooter. Will prob cost the car driver his excess and no claims discount and a load of stress.
Publicly rentable e-scooters being trialed in Cheltenham at the moment. You can only ride them in cycle lanes/paths and on the road. If there's two of you it's almost as expensive as getting a mini cab.
Pointless unless they do it properly, but is is this country so another half a**ed job will be done, they will be treated as cyclists - do what they want ignore road rules and generally get away with it ( the blue touch paper may be well and truly lit now cyclists have been mentioned )
Nearly got run into by one of these E scooters while crossing the road on a GREEN man in that London. Even a cyclist agreed with me. I should’ve clothed line the tosser on the scooter.
Hadn’t the e-scooter rider read the new Highway Code? You were a pedestrian and, therefore, higher up the ‘hierarchy of road users’
