I guess details belong more on the 851/888 Forum than here but interesting to see what's out there/what's emerging and how much. I have a Ferrari (GTO Shalford) related story re: "special price" 888 models when they were nearing end of production, i'm sure i'm not the only one.
My understanding is that from a local dealer lips that all triple eights came to the UK with KM's clocks. But agree with finding any original parts will be a expensive exercise.
Apologies I meant the Whiteboard , looks like in indicates mileage and dates for some or all of his vehicles.
I've to say he's two main pen colours inuse, green & red whatever that means. Also the registration number plate doesn't stack up unless i miss typed.
Ah I wasn’t registering the plates more the names to each vehicle. Cooper S Elan Lotus I’m guessing V4 Panigale? VX220 Peugeot Can’t read the next 1 888 Super sport Can you tell I’m bored lol
Not heard of UK bikes coming with KMH only, my 888 Strada is as standard as the day it left Bologna and has MPH from first registration in 1993.
My understanding is that at that time the factory was having supply problems and bikes were sent out with whatever they had on the shelf. I’ve heard of owners taking their bike for its first MOT only to find that it was fitted with a headlight that dipped the wrong way. Some US market bikes even arrived with Km speedos.
Confused...why are people suddenly reacting to my posts from 4 years ago? I don’t believe the OP wood even still be a round..
It’s Christmas someone has done a search and found something to comment on as for the rest well me it’s a thread I’d not seen before so is effectively a brand new thread.
My UK model Paso had Kph clocks my UK 851 from the same year registration had MPH clocks, it would see m that if it fitted it went on no matter the final market.
Those bloody Italians are a bit like their pizzas with extra toppings on......just throw it on and hope for the best.
also confused as it wasn't even you R! (post #22 @Hotblack Desiato) I happened to be investigating the whole 851/888 market and saw an SP5 was being auctioned locally, and even made an attempt to get there. Although thwarted, I thought i would post it up so tagged it on a current thread (from 4 years ago) rather than start anew. While i'm at it, just to conjure up more posters maybe, this gives a rough idea of owners on here, approx correct at June 2020:- ducati dad 851/SP4/851(996) Sambighair 1990 851 Strada farmster 888 henk 1994 888 Strada Stang 1992 851 Steve Robins 1992 851 jakepeewee SP3 Chris 851 Strada jack999s 888 MADASL SP4 replica Bridgland 1993 888 Strada Fire3500 1989 851 Strada SP4S Steben 1994 888 Strada Nodrog 888 SP5 Wassy 888 SP5 countcoupe 1992 Strada Dave 888 SP4 hindsight 888 SP5 nichosk SP2 Please re-post above if amendments or deletions needed.
