  1. agree mate, they're a bit marmite but it's good for the motorcycle world to have a bit of variety, i reckon they'll be a bit like the old Performance Bike mag but online

they've managed to get some decent discount stuff too

  2. They remind me of "Fast Bikes". Met them at Portimao last year when they tested four sports bikes. They are clearly not afraid to "ride until slide" and have a laugh as well.

  3. 2/3 of them were fast bikes so I guess that does make some sense. I think it's a good mix, they've got two good journo's now and Chris who knows how to run a business. They're all mustard riders as well.

I heard a year or two ago that all was not well at FB. Who knows... I've raced with Bruce and Carl, they're good guys. Although Carl put me on the grass at well over a tonne at Cadwell between Copice and Charlies. Shit was SHAT LOL

  4. Hopefully it will work better with a couple of Journo's, Chris hates launches so that leaves Al doing a lot. I also think the banter stuff was starting to get a bit stale with the two of them so having a new personality should help. Chris also is busy with Motoline and his other business so I guess it makes sense.

I ordered a hoodie the other day, my first merch... I don't mind supporting a company that aren't afraid to get stuck it.

On the Fast Bikes thing, it's been absolute garbage for a while, if you look at the recent mags, they are littered with editing errors, they even ran used bike features where they are focusing on a ZX6R and using ZX10 Images, and stuff like that, pretty big stuff that shouldn't be going out.

I love a printed magazine, I wonder if the problem isn't 'evil digital' but actually that they all got really complacent. Anyway another thread!

  5. You raise valid points mate.

Even if we look at MCN.. they're nothing without Michael tbh

  6. agree, Neevsey's a rider first then journo, thats what makes him good IMO

even MCN can be littered with editing errors, but i do like Neevsey, his youtube stuff is pretty good too

  7. yeah, MCN just seems to have been drifting since the days of 2005-10 when they just had the constant agenda that everyone was out to get bikers, and constant articles about fighting back against speed cameras. It was all very daily mail... I can't have been the only one who thought so, all my friends stopped reading around that time, and haven't gone back.

I'm hoping 44 Teeth get it going well, being critical of products is already getting difficult for them though, you can tell there is some of that creeping in. Also, I don't buy all the BS that Chris is paid by BMW, so they say the S1000rr is good because I'm sure it really is immense, BUT... Him and Alastair (from Barnstormer) are really good mates and business partners and I'm sure it would be an awkward chat if Chris starts making silly comments about the brand.

  8. Yeah definitely mate. The gen 4 bmw is good for sure. But ultimately it comes down to taste. It's been plagued with issues which I feel should be taken in to account on these reviews and the product quality has gone down the toilet. I don't know a single person who hasn't had issues with their gen 4.

However technologically speaking it's a fantastic machine. But as we all know, test them at a different circuit and you get a different result. Mag lap time tests are pretty irrelevant anyway. The blade for example is a crap road bike now with god awful stock gearing but they've built it for one purpose... to go racing.

No doubting though that Chris is a bmw fan boy but I do enjoy their content

  9. They’re easy watching and if you take it with a pinch of salt at face value then it’s good watching. The constant homo-sexual innuendos are a bit tiresome but it’s easy switched off and returned to when you can be arsed. I do like it.

on the Gen 4 point, anyone that hasn’t ridden one really should, it’s an unbelievable bit of kit. Think I’ve had more issues with mines than anyone but I couldn’t send it back because when you ride it and see how good it is, all the issues are forgotten.

  10. I know Simon who used to be editor at FB, I've leant him my RS250 (when I had it) and my 899, His words to me when telling me who he was off to work for was that the 'Tail has been wagging the dog for a while'. So the only way they will get away with going against the grain is by having such a big internet presence that the manufacturers can't afford to boycott them. However an example of how they already have started to bend, is that you won't ever see a Michelin or Pirelli tyre test by them, like the massive Bridgestone one in 2019, they are mates with Gary from Bridgestone, every test has been on Bridgestones but they don't just come out and say "Look we are sponsored by Bridgestone"

  11. Yeah, I see loads of positives, but for me personally when I sat on it at the show, I just don't think it feels premium at all. That said... it's £20k with Carbon Wheels, a Ducati V4S is £23k, and if you are actually going to use it on the track as designed, you won't care.

On the 44T thing, they made reference to the blade being disappointing on track because of the gearing etc, and they have made comments about Aprilia and the dealer network but I think they need to get a bit more blunt with some of it. My concern also with Boothy is that he is REALLY race focussed.

Fast Bikes recent 'big test' using a go kart track was embarrassing.

  12. I paid £18700 for my M sport before the price increase on the 1st April 2019. Value for money nothing could beat it for the spec you get but the quality of finish is pretty shocking. The frame paint and subframe paint was worn after less than 2k miles.

  13. Been a while since I bought a bike mag.... probably no more Ogri... Wasn't Fast Bikes the one that never managed to get the page numbers in sequence?

  14. Not bought a fast bikes mag since shakey, frosty, Gazza, jimi etc.

  18. Looks like Misano circuit ridden anti clockwise-cool.

  19. I bloody love it. My 748r will be at Ducati Day this year. Never been tracked (until 2021).
Pete. You may need to borrow a different set of race fairings.

Wanted. Race instrument bracket for 748/916/996/998.

    #serious

    EDIT.@Pete433
I think Donny is best for the baby 748 and have 2 days booked at Silverstone on the Triumph already, so fairings are yours if you fancy Silverstone.
