Been there, done that. 2014/15 and 2016/17 were particularly prolific. But now I am living in the countryside, I just grow turnips, in mud.
Good point about John Major. Probably the person who gets least credit for the overall success of the games
just some regular dude, i think you refer to him as a snazi, with some thoughts and a few books to his name. anyhoo, aye, it could always be worse, kinda like only having half your worldly possessions nicked rather than them all.
Everything North of the border is going so well, isn't it: https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/the-snp-may-never-recover-from-its-hate-crime-bungle https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/the-salmond-inquiry-is-a-farce
The buses. The Bikes. The cable car. The Park bridge (aren't there a few bridges that cant carry traffic due to years of neglect already that could have a few trees ?). All vanity projects that have failed and cost the tax payer millions...
I just don’t seem to see hardly anyone going for the jugular in PMs question time. I was optimistic that Kier seemed very eloquent and more direct with questions, but it’s only the first question, once things have gone off topic, probably a Boris tactic now, it all fizzles out and I loose interest. So to answer your question I do think the quality of Boris in question time is now shite, but a lot of that is because he can get away with it with the piss poor opposition, and apart from Kier there is not a single soul on the Labour benches I would vote for, party politics aside. Let’s be clear. Boris has shown his true colours since being mayor. MP for Uxbridge, him stating he will never agree to a third runway, I should imagine he is off Theresa Mays Xmas card list??!! Brexit and Michael Gove shenanigans, the list goes on. The sad thing is what alternative is an improvement, I’m genuinely asking cos I’m baffled.

you dont need it, you articulate it so well without me needing to label yah. chortle. chill mary, yer gonna blow a vessel.
I suggest all the Champagne socialists on here fuck off with John Wright and go live in a shit country somewhere. There's plenty to choose from Even plenty that fit your political narrative.....
The SNP might never recover? The SNP will win a record number of seats in their next election & will set in motion their departure from UK. Personally I'd rather this didn't happen, but I'm not blind to whats happening.
Starmer is, I believe, a barrister - no surprise that he's not good at PMQs as he's not used the 'opposition' being able to directly challenge and counter whatever he spouts.
Starmer starts off very well then looses it, not sure I’d like him to represent me in times of trouble, I think another example of him not carrying through is his initial reaction to the report condemning Labours anti Semitic issue was top notch, you felt this guy could lead us into battle, then it all goes quiet and fizzles out. If he really wanted major change he would make it happen.
If people are going to keep quoting from the Guardian and twitter I'm going to use my trusty favourite. An oldy but a goody. Can Scotland afford independence? | Shetland News (shetnews.co.uk)
There's another difference. If a witness refuses to answer questions or continues to deflect and evade (as BoJo does constantly), the judge will make adverse comment about it, and could potentially hold them in contempt. Also, I believe, the PMQs format is very formulaic and prescribed, so if some re-animated abominable snowman chancer gives a weak answer or just gives an answer to a question that wasn't asked (as BoJo does in the "Is Joe Biden woke" clip, above), the questioner can't keep coming and coming at them with follow up questions to forensically dissect their response. Don't make the mistake of thinking that witnesses make a good impression with smart alec answers other than to their cronies. Just the opposite - impartial observers such as juries and judges see right though it and if anything, the power is in the question, rather than the response. Contrary to what courtroom dramas would have you believe, there are very few "gotcha" moments when the murderer breaks down under relentless cross examination in the witness box and confesses that they done it, but rather, you set the questioning up in such a way that their denials, dissembling and evasion makes them look daft and/or dishonest.
As I've said in other posts, I think he is trying to walk a tightrope/sit on a fence by keeping both wings of his party onside. As a result, he comes across as rather uninspiring. Labour would be better off putting clear blue (or red) water between themselves and the Tories, esp on the issue of Brexit (or these days more accurately "relations with the EU") and social justice/welfare. Even if they alienate the red wallers, they'll stand for something and gets votes from elsewhere.
Eeeh, you little rascal. You'll have the Snatz on here raging..... I hear the Shetlands aren't too enthusiastic about Scotland breaking away from the UK. And the SNP will be a bit nervous about that because if the Shetlands then break away from Scotland (which they've indicated), then they'll take the big fuck off oil field that is the Clair Ridge project with them.... oooooh, stinger!
