  1. Now there may be a break in the Lockdown on the horizon, Gave my second most prized possession a good clean and treated her to a new intercom, the old ones battery wouldn't hold a charge.

I have only ever, seen or noticed one other of these over the years.

Wouldn't mind betting that this is the only RC with an intercom fitted.

I personally think it's worth every penny, but fully understand there's not much of an argument for this.

  2. No, but only because I cant afford to. If I could, then yes. Arai r the best. I'm on my 9th.

  3. I have had 3 RX-7GP’s and currently have the RX-7V which was expensive enough at £700 plus, and an AGV RP60 open face helmet I occasionally use on the Scrambler during the summer but last year during the first lockdown I also bought a Xlite X803 Ultra Carbon which cost just £289 at the time from Sportsbikeshop.

They are now £325 from Sportsbikeshop so still a shed load less than the Arai carbon lid :upyeah: BB57E8A7-D40C-4729-8EBE-04E1488A9C92.jpeg

  4. Agree, the X-lite is a great value for money lid. Can't argue with the list of riders who have been seen to use them.
Chaz Davies, Marco Melandri, Casey Stoner, and Danilo Petrucc.
Like I said, there's no real excuse to buy the Arai, just a bit of bling, with the added benefit of being safe.

I do need to check the date on mine, I think I've got another 3-4 years of use.

  5. Another very happy bod with an X lite 803 super lightweight carbon :upyeah: a little noisy but with ear plugs all is well. Fortunate to have 3 lids and they all other different qualities..... Shoei X spirt 3 being my all time favourite if being slightly weighty. Solid under speed, very quiet, super comfortable, great ventilation. AGV pista R on the other hand makes a great lid for track days and more focused riding when your tucked in more. Excellent aperture unlike anything else. Super lightweight and comfortable but very noisy! The 803 is the lightest of the bunch but only by a few grams compared too the AGV Pista R.... basically if I’m taking the naked the 803 rocks, V4 then it’s the Shoei X spirt 3 followed closely by the Pista R..... All great lids that are better in some areas than others! Hence best of both worlds....

I used to be an Arai man through and through! But for some reason they started changing the interior design to the point of it not feeling comfortable at all.... plus I’ve now experienced a better visor system and ventilation that trumps the Arai hands down.... just my view  It’s such a personal preference! Just a good job we have lots of choices :)

  6. I’ve always used arai.

I would cry if I smashed an rc up though

  7. Had 6 or 7 arai RX variants (still have 2 at the mo), but wouldn't stretch to the carbon one as I tend to like lairy colour schemes and black just
    doesn't float my boat.
After trying a couple of types, think they are a shite lid for comms as they are just too noisy, so you probs will be in the minority there.

  8. I've been running Sena's in my lids for about 5 years. I Have 10Us in this RC and my other RX7, also have fitted a 10u to my sons Arai Tour X4. I have just fitted the V2 10u in the RC(haven't ridden with it yet), which has a different style of antenna. Never had an issue with sound quality, I also wear ear plugs and ride a V4 with full race system.

  9. Dude you’re too metrosexual, whadda you do when you chip a nail?:(

  10. Depends who I’ve chipped it inside of I guess

  11. I’m desperately in need of a new lid. I made the big mistake of buying a adventurer type. I thought it would look better with the hyper I brought last year but it’s absolutely crap above 70. In the past I’ve had Arai. Good lids but pricey.
I’m toying with getting the xlite 803 ultra carbon. Does anyone know the main difference between the 803 & 802?

  12. Here’s a review of the two https://billyscrashhelmets.co.uk/x-lites-new-x-803-sportsbike-track-motorcycle-helmet-review/

  14. I’ve got an RC with Senna 10u fitted. The RC is nice from the perspective that it’s relatively unique. Having said that, when I wear it I think most people thing you’re a dick for outplaying that much money on a helmet that doesn’t really offer any additional features than a 803 or others mentioned here. I can’t understand why anyone using an Arai would use anything but the 10u. Aesthetically it has no match and from a functionality perspective I don’t think it gives anything away.

  15. Have had 3 arai rx7 but now prefer and have shoei x spirit 3 MM try the helmet for fit b4

  16. Wider field of vision and a slightly different shell shape. I see that the new RS version has adjustable padding which should give a bit more flexibility with the fit. Definitely need to buy the RS in the shop to get it fitted. Andy

  17. I'm looking for a new helmet, ideally with space already built in for blu tooth type tech (Just cannot get comfy using my Arai) but can't seem to find a decent replica type if you know what I mean. All seem more suitable for GS riders.

  18. The built in intercoms work well with shoei neotec gt air but beware u can’t upgrade units easily Schuberth / Bmw lids also have built in intercoms
I m happy with my neotec and sena (have shark great concept but mech is flimsy getting stuck on occasion)
