Just avoided another rip-off ordering summit for my ex (she's got C!) Does anyone know of an alternative to A? I just get a bit fed up with the constant, "YOU MUST HAVE PRIME!!! We know that you'll forget to cancel so GIVE US MORE MONEY!" They obviously believe in the rip as that was the only way to avoid £4.99 for delivery. Anyone know of a UK company doing an Amazon?
And whilst I'm moaning (for that is what I do), fecking Facebook! I keep getting notifications about John. I've no idea who the feck is John?
Well, Facebook have got the connection. I'm only on there because there was some Guzzi owners groups there. Perhaps it wasn't a new motor but a new Guzzi? Anyway, I'll leave Facebook as it is not going to be a Guzzi that I get - KTM. Possibly, also a BMW (rubber band job) and so with keeping my Ducatis, I can try to get as many European countries as possible represented!
I think that I am not thinking and being tight. It was a easy bulb kit. I probably could have ordered it elsewhere but didn't look - for I am lazy! Maybe I should calm down and consider Amazon Prime as I do order a fair bit from A - I know my sister does Prime not for the TV but the free next day delivery, I'll step back and shadup!
I'm gonna go with Prime. I seem to be ordering two or three things a month plus I did have the TV for month's trial a while back and did watch "The Man In The High Castle", so I will get my monies worth. I think my time fighting against Amazon is over and it's just time to go with the flow! Amazon seem to do much more motorbike stuff now then I ever remember. They pick up on it as they rape my browsing history (I think) and so I'll have a proper look
I always have the free trial for prime which they offer me almost all the time. Sometimes it's a month, sometimes a week. I sign up and immediately cancel. You still get the full amount of trial that way but won't forget. Sometimes I buy a months worth of prime when I think it's worth it. However, I haven't never felt forced to buy from Amazon. I don't like that they don't pay tax and I think the government should put a stop to that. I think buying online (outside of times of worldwide pandemics at least) should cost a premium. Going to a local shop or retailer should cost less. I'm all for buying local and make use of my local butcher for example. I do it because I get better quality produce from him than supermarkets or Amazon. I wouldn't however pay more than I have to for the same product so very often I look to Amazon for my needs.
Why should we have to pay more to buy from Amazon? Let the shops cut their profits, or they could form a collective and purchase parking lots to run FREE and tempt us back. BTW I agree about taxing Amazon more corporate taxes based on a minimum amount or as a percentage of sales, whichever is greater.
It's just my opinion. I do think if they had to pay tax like everyone else with a shop the prices would be more or less the same anyway but at the moment they enjoy a competitive advantage. I don't think that's right. It's for the government to sort out on behalf of the people though.
My wife has an Amazon prime account with films etc. By the time the bstad has authorised access to the films I am either sleeping or so hacked off I dont bother. They do some very naughty things here in France where you end up with a monthly subscription too easily after purchasing on Amz. Hate them. No longer bother with FB also since maybe middle of last year. Weight off my shoulders tbh. Full ohshit. Have to admit that there are some super savings online at the moment. Some via Amz.....doh. Just got to be careful.
I shop locally, but here that just means Chemist Shop, Co-Op, and small hardware shop. I can't travel as no vehicle and limited mobility. Everything that I've bought from Amazon can't be bought within about 30 miles of my house. So, I feel no guilt. Yes, Amazon don't pay their taxes, or their delivery staff properly, but I, not being God, cannot influence that. So, I feel no guilt!
