With NO V5 inplace, 45k on the speedometer and the engine having the usual poor paint peeling problems, no thank you sir.

As far as I was aware, a bike built for racing by Ducati Corse, wasn’t supplied with a locking fuel cap nor would it have air runners with holes to fit indicators The pictures are inconsistent, some with carbon some with not, one with an Ohlins steering damper, one without. Not even sure the that Ohlins marketed that style of steering damper in 1997. IMO, too many inconsistencies and is more than £20k over priced. Andy
I guessing a frame and engine check with the factory might install confidence for any buyer, but for me and my wallat it says no on this occasion.
In reality, very little of the original equipment survives racing unless you are a multiple title winner and there is a willingness to preserve the history. Even then, I’d hate to have to verify, hand on heart, every component. IMO, it’s a poorly crafted advert, we’ve been here before with a similar bike and that bike is just no worth that sort of money. Andy
Your probably better off with riding and investing your hard earned money on a standard 748r slabsided model.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265147898582?ViewItem=&item=265147898582 What do people think the right price would be for this? Cat C 899 with no service history
Now, where's that bargepole? But if you really are interested you must go an see it, first. Also check that you can insure it OK.
So I am a new member ( Posted in New member Hang out ), finally getting around to buying the bike I should of bought 15 years ago, what do you think of the below?? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203339965382?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
This retailer is well known for asking top dollar. The bike looks correct, the OE alloy exhaust that comes with it, requires the correct EPROM as well. The limited numbered plaque is not sequential, it came from a big box of plaques, mine in a 2002MY, 2001 registered and numbered 848. Andy
Just seen the clutch cover, not original but Corse RS look-a-like. Can't quite see from the picture if the carbon exhaust is 45mm or 50mm. If it's 50mm, the bike should also have a 45/45 mid pipe to go with the OE aluminium exhaust. Andy
Just my opinion but do you really want to spend that money on a old bike? What are you looking to do with it? Have it as a museum piece and just stare at it? Ride the ass of it and see your "investment" dwindle? I think that with something like this, you have to ask yourself, "Why?".
So Why would you want to get out of bed every morning with that negative attitiude,.....just buy what you like & sod everybody else is my attitude.
