899 Service

  1. Hello peeps, have a yearly service coming up in July.
Would like to pick your brains on a couple of three things...

minor service is about £250, but they’ve also said it will need fork oil replacement and coolant change (every 4 years they said)? All in all it’s coming to about £700.
I don’t mind paying it, but if I went to a private mechanic, would it be detrimental to resale if I had the fork oil and coolant done through a private mechanic?
    Cheers all

  2. Christ, that’s expensive for coolant and fork oil.

  3. I’d say that’s a little rich for fork oil, although the rationale will be that it’s forks out and probably that it requires lots of bodywork to come off

  4. my experience of dealers is that most of the techs are just fitters.

a specialist will do a better job on your forks anyhow.

forks out is not a big job. You can do it yourself.

coolant is a piece of piss as well.
