All jackets are more protective than no *jacket. Some jackets are more protective than others. Riding "sensibly" will reduce (not eliminate) the need for protective jackets. Fashion dictates which jackets will protect most people. *same applies to all protective items inc helmets, gloves, boots & trousers.
Riding sensibly does not always help - other drivers have a big say. But you are correct in the basic principal.
Be wary of cheap crap sold by Amazon, or crap advertised on Facebook and ebay, but manufactured in the Far East.
Ok, thanks. That's kind of stating the obvious, but how did that specific race suit perform? I'm not thinking of getting one. Just curious.
As far as I could make out , on the leather aspect , the cuff zips were not snug enough to prevent the sleeves sliding up nearly to the elbow , and possibly exposing bare skin in a slide . Armour pads ( optional ? ) only passed an outdated test , and failed on the latest safety standards . There was also some issue with the lining ( but I had already stopped paying attention ) . I think the gist of it was that poor quality lining meant that the pads wouldn't be held in the right place . .... just my reading of it of course , the facts may prove me to be an idiot .....
Watched this a week or so ago, and think I have a comment too...its a pile of shite tho. Decent leather, good weight, triple stitched but as they would give some info how tested it got slammed. What's wrong with just changing the armour out?! That was my take after wasting 15 minutes of my life. Also a super boring bloke doing the talking!!
Had two. Worst quality I’ve ever had, even my £120 god knows what branded helmet I used for racing lasted better than a €500 Ducati arai
My riding bud loves them, he has about 4 all race reps. I’ve an AGV Veloce, a Scorpion and a Schubert all seem pretty similar. I’m truly baffled by his fandom of them but then it’s his money and choice.
Sorry that your life is so important that you can't spare 10 minutes. Yes you could replace the armour...... if you knew that it needed replacing with something better. But if your life is so important that you can't spare a few minutes to watch a video, how you can spare several hours to find, buy and fit different armour to your Amazon leathers? I would rather buy the right thing in the first place. Sorry to bore you.... and feel free to get on with those important things that you have pending....
So you crash tested them both and the cheap one didn't damage your brain quite as much? I need to get a new helmet and I take it you would advise against Arai and favour cheap shit? Or it is "Ducati Arai" rather than just plain "Arai"?
