Hi guys, I recently installed a quadlock on my KTM 1290 SDR (I know not a Ducati....). Now typically you plot a route from A to B, but on a bike you want to go via some stunning roads, to accomplish this you can add stops and Google will join the dots to provide the route you want to take - great! However GM classes these as stops not waypoints, so when I tested this last weekend at every stop GM would indicate I'd reached my stop and prompted me to click continue, which when riding and obviously wearing gloves isn't an option.... so I'd have to pull over, remove a glove, click continue, glove on and carry on. When I've got 10 "stops" it understandably became annoying. Is there any way in GM to avoid this? If not what other apps are available (iPhone) that will work in this way... I tried Waze also a few days ago, I've never been a fan TBH and I missed one of the stops and although I could see the map to continue to the next stop it was constantly trying to get me to go back to the missed waypoint which became tiresome after a while.
I have Scenic on my phone had a few others but they’re all cumbersome to operate compared to my old Cycle Garmin. That’s my experience anyway, if you go to the App Store you should find all those available but you will need a subscription for all the bells and whistles. I prefer the cycling orientated mapping as it will give you the less well traveled roads but then that’s my preference for the type of bike I ride.
I only use My Route App now, it’s fee paying but very good. I stress that’s for days out, holiday etc not simple A-B which there a plenty of free apps available.
Same here, along with others on this forum. They also do a navigation app which uses the HERE routing of the routes you create with their route planner (same as Garmin). They release version 2.0 at the end of the month.
