Driving Assessment

  1. I am not saying you are wrong. This driving instructor that I see, seems to have other ideas....

  2. What times does you carer arrive? Morning appointments are best

  3. Probably and it is wrong.

  4. To me this says exactly what they are trying to do.
They don’t care because they have made up their mind by referencing your carer each time

  5. I get that and he is a driving instructor geared up (forgive the pun) to get teenagers through the driving test and not old farts though their assessment!

  6. They may well be.

Having a carer is my own personal vision of hell.

  10. That is why I wish I could get a straight answer to my question. If DVLA turned round now and said that I couldn't have the car entitlement, but could have the bike one, then fine. I would not bother to appeal it. It is a crazy system we have. I get knocked off a Ducati in an accident that the Police say was not my fault and yet I have to justify that I can still drive a car, having to deal with bullshit about holding it in first at traffic lights and not taking a hand off the wheel.

And nobody has come up with a suggestion on what enduro bike to get to hit the Forest of Dean!

I am going to have a day out an go to the KTM place in
there was actually no real Eileen. "In fact she was composite, to make a point about Catholic repression

    Work that one out......

  11. It's Headway. I got exposed to them about 12 years ago after a horse riding accident and a head injury from hitting my head on something - a fence, the ground, Rodney the horse, but never got to the bottom of it. annoying thing was that the air ambulance was called out but they refused to land anywhere near horses. I never got my helicopter ride.:(

Headway just p1ssed me off - for I am a very sensitive soul. They would 100% agree that I need a carer.

And I should be allowed to hold nothing sharper than a crayon - under supervision, in case I try to eat it.

  12. Glad to hear it, you should do everything you can to appear the model driver the examiners always want to see. Once you have the car licence restored, you can hopefully move on to getting your bike licence again.

Re DVLA, "how much safer" could you be than ticking every box they deem necessary to pass the driving test?

I read your posts and see clearly your frustration, but also your strength and refusal to give up -many others would have already done so by now.

So get that licence Perry, and we will all come for a ride out with you when you do.

  14. It’s a long time since I took my car and bike driving tests but my abiding memory was ‘just do what they tell you until you have passed’ - then you can do what YOU think is right!

But mind you I’m struggling with my IAM lessons as I have so many bad habits, but I’m still trying to do what they suggest to me.

  15. Also things change, in my day you changed down through the gears as you slowed down, my daughters were taught to just use the brakes...

  16. Which I would say is wrong but this learning to drive thing is a corrupted art.... Experience and mechanical knowledge is a minus, definitely!

  17. But at least the IAM is self-inflicted pain. You can always walk away and carry on driving/riding as you do. That choice has been taken away from me.

  18. my two were taught the same but went into first as they were stopping
I was horrified but gear boxes must be able to cope with it these days o_O
