Depends. If you drop a cog on the front, it'll make 2nd gear more useable if it bogged down previously for example and as such you could use 2nd gear instead of 1st on some corners. It's something you have to play with. Also depends on use. If you are a really quick track rider you'll benefit more than a more novice rider. If a mix road and track, then you have to factor in an element of comfort at road speeds.
In over 40 years I've never ridden on a track. I reckon most half decent ridders could rag a 1299 in the first 4 gears on a good road, so I'm not making out I'm a riding god .
I try not too, but it seems very easy to get red lights flashing on the dash. What revs does that start at?
I ride as quick as most on the road and rarely get anything like red line even on track. And that’s rare too. So ime dropping one off the front is one of the cheapest and best mods out there.
For nearly 15 years I've had bikes that revved to 13k or more, I don't recall hitting the limiter on those. Now I'm watching the tacho...
I've just put my base up for sale in the for sale section (funnily enough) if you're still looking? https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/2018-v4-base-for-sale.88688/
