Mine's a 1098 but I guess the fairing and frame are the same as an 848

  2. Looks like I'm going to have to play around a little.

  3. I had to do the same, to high and it's difficult to get you toe over it, too low and it fouls the bellypan. You might have to adjust your rearsets as well (just a little) to get a comfy position.

However, when you have it set right, you can fire it up through the gears really easily. Almost like a quickshifter (if you do clutchless upshifts), because it's acting directly off the spindly, it makes a very possitive shift. :upyeah:

  4. No adjustable rearsets yet, so if I can't get the position right its going to have to wait until I get some.

  5. Sorry to take this quickly off topic abmatt, Kenoir those look like Gilles rear sets? do you think they could be positioned lower/backwards of the original rear sets, at 6'6" I need as much room as poss.

  6. Is the toe position adjustable? Thats how I sorted mine before I had adjustable ones.

  7. Same as Kenoir then, he's a mate of Hagrid's too ;-)

  8. :)

  9. Well it's on and functioning:) my frame plug was restricting some movement so that's gone!

dont know why, as I've never ridden with race shift before, but it feels so natural. I really like it. The lever is in nearly the same position as kenoirs, but with the standard rearsets feels too high, no matter how I adjust it. It's fine for 6th to 1st though.

going to have another play tomorrow but really its time to get the dremmel out. For the optimum position I'll need to shave a bit off the belly pan. Its staying now though, like it too much.

  10. I don't have a pic with the rearsets in full view (DP Corse RS), but you can just see the peg in the photo. The only solution to not foul the fairing, or to avoid cutting the fairing, is to put a spacer on the bolt that holds the fairing near the kick stand. There is a sleeved spacer of about 1cm long that allows the lower fairing to sit out enough to clear the gear lever - you can just about see it in this photo - it's the silver spacer adjacent to the exhaust pipe. The only compromise is that it's a touch trickier to put the kickstand down, as less of it is visible when 'up', but it's fine with a bit of practice.

  11. Yes they are Gilles and there's lots of adjustability in them. I'm a 6'1" dwarf but I'm sure you can stretch them further than I have.

  12. Well, as I still have the OE rearsets I'm going to have to make do at the min. Can't get the lever low enough without cutting the belly pan as the standard pegs are a bit low.

    the hunt for rearsets begins.

  13. Didn't Bladders say you can use 916 ones with a bit of elongation?
Some race shift cheapies on ebay.

  14. this a new nickname...after the week I've had it will be very apt tonight ;)

  15. Why dont they make cheapies with std shift?

  16. Lol its an easy conversion if you only run one shift...surprising how soon its second nature ;-)

  17. Half an hour to re-wire your instincts and you're good to go!
