999 Ohlins Shock

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by Ivor, Nov 11, 2021.

  1. I have an ohlins shock in my 999, plan to refit the OEM if the ohlins is of interest to anyone, also a 749R rocker. If interest I'll get them off the bike and take some pics, they'll need some TLC as they've been on there a while.

  2. Don't think it's a 749R shock, but I could be wrong, was told to use the 749R rocker to raise the rear of my 999 to make it turn better, which it did, I'll dig some photos out of the shock, it's still in the bike and a bit grubby

  3. I'll take a look tomorrow, need to work out who was in first, just so you are aware, had a pm about the shock, I'll take it from timings, other chap not after the rocker or linkage

  5. Bought the parts separately

  6. And there was me thinking I'd brought the most Filthy 999 around.

  9. See, you can be funny, to be fair, it (I) did spend a fair amount of time on the grass, sand, gravel etc, classic ambition exceeding ability. Realised this and bought a faster track bike

  11. It's a 749r rocker, but I need the ride height bar

  12. The part details for the rocker

  13. I'm missing something, The box says 749R rocker? The hand written label is mine, had my original part in for storage. Suspension is disassembled, I'll photo the part number on it tomorrow.

  14. The hand written label is mine, the label on the box says 04 749R

  15. It appears to also say “-999R/04” which did not, I believe, have the flat rate link.

  16. I wouldn't know, I was advised to fit it to alter the ride height, it wasn't a suspension performance thing, more a bike turning thing, which it did improve markedly
