600 Monster Rider In Bristol

Discussion in 'Newbies Hangout' started by Jim Harrison, Dec 26, 2021.

  1. Hi all, thanks for adding me to the group. Just recently got a yellow 600 Monster 1997 and slowly working through all the problems I didn't see when I was buying it because I was so excited I could afford a Ducati! Needless to say it's going to be more expensive than I anticipated. But at least it will stay on the road. Look out for lots of questions..... Here's a pic from a sunny ride a few weeks ago.

  8. Hi Jim, the toll house in your photo is just up the road from one of the most noted Ducati independents in the UK, Louigi Moto. If you are new to Ducati and live close they will be invaluable if you need reasonably priced servicing and support.

  9. welcome,
    good to have you here

  10. It's not a Ducati if it doesn't come with problems especially yellow ones without a rubbish bin Jim

welcome into our mad house but not as you know it :)

  11. Welcome to the forum Jim. My first Ducati experience was on a 600 Monster, cousin was living in Latvia in the early 90s and leant me and my then partner his whilst we stayed there. Probably the most exotic bike in the country at the time, got stopped by the police 5 times in one day, only once for speeding. The others just wanted a look at the bike :D

  12. Thanks everyone, great to be part of a friendly forum! Off to see some forks at the weekend, hopefully they will be better than the ones I have on the bike but if not it's off to the rechromers I go!

  13. The plating place that Guy Martin used for his MotoMartin frame & forks restoration program is nearby. Can't remember the name without watching it again - it was Yate or somewhere nearby think...
