Hi, my Multistrada has about 2000 miles left before its due a Desmo Service, I'm in the North East and it looks like my nearest dealer is M&S Newcastle. Quick question, has anyone ever used them for a Desmo Service and anyone know roughly the price of one?
I bought my 899 from them new and had all services done by them as well, I think they do a decent job. If you give them a buzz they might still have their winter service offer on, something like 20% off normal service prices, my 15,000 miles Desmo service was just over £700 if I remember. Have a chat with them, you might be able to shave a bit off that if you are prepared to do oil and filters yourself
Thanks mate, they are closed at the moment and the web sites down but I'll give them a call, I'm not the most technically minded and don't have all the tools but maybe I could look into seeing how to change the filters and drain the oil (can't be that hard surely haha).
M&S are a bit difficult to get in contact with at the moment, you need to make an appointment just to have a look at the showroom. Rumour is they are selling up or moving so if you are dropping your bike off make sure you can pick it up.
Wow really, ok I'll try and contact them on Monday, if they close or stop servicing, then I'm going to be struggling somewhere nearby to get it serviced.
I did ask them but when you get quoted approx £1100 (and it could be more he said) then you tend to try and look somewhere else...
Its a 2017 model so I guess I will be out of warranty, could you send me the details please of the independents?
I actually bought the bike from Lee (top guy and would recommend him to anyone looking to buy a Ducati), just a shame he lives a long way from me for a service, might drop him a message and enquire though.
If you want an independent, try Mark Rain at V-Twin Services Consett. 07989630226 Used to work at M&S then went independent. Seems reasonable £ The word is that M&S will move to different premises and concentrate on used bikes. Probably why it’s difficult to contact them.
Just had my bikes serviced at M&S - not the Department Store - couldn't fault the service or cost. Bikes picked up - All fettled by some of the best and most knowledgeable spanner men in the North - dropped back off. Bill was very reasonable as you hear about loads of people having their pants pulled down and their arses spanked You can only speak as you find
Really !! My mate's ordered a PP V4 from them and they've just emailed him saying it's on the way, he'll pick up in early March.
Don’t think Lee at MT is doing service work anymore. Last I heard he was concentrating on 2nd hand bike sales.
I don’t doubt they’ll supply new bikes, but heard on the grapevine that Ian’s looking to move to smaller premises and concentrate on used sales. No reason to be concerned that they’d fail to complete a new bike order.
Just had my multi in for a service, the guys in service department are all spot-on, winter rates are cheaper too. The front door of the shop is still closed but the back door is open, still selling bikes new and old and will continue to do so even though they are looking for a new building. Westgate Hill is dead anyway, it's become like the Bronx.
