  1. Yeah I wouldn’t want anyone on the back so I’ll check out some covers. Good to know clutch can be adjusted.. thanks

  5. Welcome Helen & yes as you probably suspect it is a thing on the 848/1098/1198 bikes. I’m sure I posted about it a few years back too but never really found an answer.
It’s noticeable how “not a problem” it is on my new Supersport but I don’t half miss that ride, impossible mirrors & all!

  6. That smear in the mirror looks kind of blue and white. I hope it's not a cop, anyway... It's nice to know my elbows don't try to overpass me

  9. +1. I have extenders but still look under my arm, mainly in the left side, to see behind. I find I can see OK in the right and do shoulder checks anyway.

Welcome Helen and enjoy your ride.

I agree with losing the pillion pegs and rear seat too!

  10. Hi Helen and welcome to the wonderful world of Ducati ownership, it can be challenging at times but overall the most rewarding way of spending time on two wheels! The mirror extenders are about the best option for a quick fix but as others have said doesn't eliminate the need to do the funky chicken dance to see behind you!

  13. Hi Helen, beautiful bike well done.

I have a 1098 so basically the same bike as yourself .

Re the mirrors, with a bit more time in the saddle I'd say you'll be doing as I do, lifting up your arm and bending and looking at the mirror to see what's behind you. A little bit of dancing if you will, or just drop your arm of the bars for a second and take a look.

I also find dependant on what jacket you wear and the tightness of the fit helps, my track leathers fine, my furygan jacket looser fit, bad

    Best of luck. Wes

  14. It's inconvenient but one trick is to shut off the throttle and pull in the clutch lever, it only takes a few seconds but when you do this all will become clear in the mirror.

  16. Welcome to the forum Helen, enjoy the new bike!! Don't worry too much about the mirrors :p

  17. I think they’re cheap enough to try and see if they help.

  18. Welcome in, nice choice, I've had 2x 848's. Oberon slave cylinder is a must, your bike looks like it has the factory extenders on already so as per the pics above worth looking at oberon etc. Longer term, the bike benefits in my opinion from shorter gearing, makes it nicer in town, and an expensive but worthwhile mod is the speedymoto top handlebar clamp as it raises the bars about 15mm which I personally much preferred, it's expensive so one of those if it ain't broke type changes.
