But the stats are totally screwed.

How can I have 100% win when my current streak is 1 and max streak is 9. With a current streak of 1 my previous attempt must have been a fail.

I think you must have had a different word to me because yesterday’s word for me was SHINE on both iPad and iPhone.

Got great satisfaction from this, had three letters in the wrong places on the second attempt and tried lots of combinations without luck. Walked away and did something else for 10 minutes and coming back to try again, but without even consciously thinking about the puzzle, the word popped into my head! Proof that we do have our own task manager beavering away, if only we let it do it’s stuff.

The 'streak' seems to be the number of times in a row that you avoid a certain number of guesses. So if previously you got it in day 3 and today it took you 5, then your current streak is 1. That is one game in five guesses. If you get it in 5 again tomorrow, the streak goes to 2. The max streak means that at some point you got 9 in a row for the same number of guesses.

At least that's how I understand it.

 

My son and I both had SHINE yesterday. Anybody else had FETUS?

 

Not correct I’m afraid. The “streak” is the number of consecutive successes. I have played this game 124 times and only failed once which was on my 42nd attempt. Until I got to my 84th attempt the max streak was a steady 41 from my successful attempts 1 to 41. The successful 84th attempt took the max streak to 42. It is now 82.

Whilst I invariably get a 4 my stats show successes for 2 guesses through to 6. Just waiting fo a 1 to arrive and I think i will pack it in.

 

NYT cocked up the transfer when they purchased it with different versions floating about.
