Can anyone tell me where to find the diagnostic plug on my 821SP, please? I’ve looked in the usual plac-under the seat, by the ECU, but can only see one unconnected plug which doesn’t resemble the usual one.
So it would appear I need *another* cable to convert from the plug I found to the ODM socket. ☹️ Any idea where I can source this @chrisw ?
Have you located the four pin diagnostic socket. Not the 6 way one in your picture. Most people source their Ducati diagnostic connectors from London Electric (LonElec).
Aha! So that plug is NOT the DDA. I’ll investigate further. There are pictures of the right kind of plug around, so I think it must be tucked away somewhere. Thanks.
Probably no help at all, but on my 1198S it lurked on the left side of the engine, near the battery/ECU etc. As @chrisw says, 4-pin Supaseal connector. Leads available from LonElec.
The 1198S uses a 3 way Superseal connector with 2 wires into it (K Line and earth). The 812 HM uses a 4 way Sigma connector with 4 wires into it (Can +, can -, +12v and earth).
Thanks all. That connector will be the one to fit the cable I already have. I just need to find the damn thing.
Might be some clues in this manual from this website: https://www.ducati.ms/threads/2013-2015-ducati-hypermotard-821-sp-workshop-manual.730269/)? https://drive.google.com/open?id=1lL1WBg-C6hYIPIZcVjzXLXPzgOiO4ScO
Got that already, thanks. It’ll be tucked away underneath somewhere. I’ll just have to root around somewhat.
Update: I’ve found a Superseal socket marked ‘Marelli Comm’ but this unfortunately has only 3 pins. Have I found it or am I wrong again? My ODB adaptor has a four-pin plug…
Found the little bu&&er! Tucked tightly down the Left hand side of the battery. So tight, I thought it was just a connector in the run of a cable. Connected now. All happy. Thanks all.
