Morning all, I am in the market for a 749S or 749R, in road or track trim either is fine...what have you got? UK buyer from Northamptonshire Thanks for reading. GT
Nope it was never for sale but i was looking at an 899 or 959 track bike and i would have decided at that point whether to keep or sell the 749 in any event, its only a 2006 dark not an S so of no use to the OP thanks for the thought though hold on, dont you have half the UK registered 749r's?
Thanks for the reply. Can I ask how you find the 749 on the track? Heavy on the wrists? Any pointers towards set-up or must have additions? Any general feedback welcome.
its awesome and suits me.. im 5 10 and about 76kg and pretty fit like many mines quite heavily modded and im a newbie track dayer i got mine already modded as it was built to campaign in the thunderbike sport series if you decide you want one youre welcome to come have a look at mine im not selling but i would consider it if i can get into a later bike for cheap monies
Had my track only 749R for 12+ years. Love it to bits. I’m 5’7” and 10st…fits like a glove! Too busy to notice if it’s heavy on wrists but never had an issue with that type of thing on any bike (including previous 748 and 916SPS on road and track). Mine has lots of mods. Not for sale!
I recently rode Cadwell on a 996 bip, which was awesome, but my wrists and forearms were feeling it after the 1st session. Mind you I am 5'10", a touch over 84kg (ahem) and not been on a bike/track for 25 years or so, with no bike fitness to speak of (and two years locked in the house eating pork pies)...when I write that down I'm not sure what I was thinking! Bloody awesome though!! I'm committed to the 749 (I have an option on a 748), even if I need to get fit!
I did see this and thought it wasn't a bad price ? https://www.facebook.com/marketplac...wse_serp:6bba224a-e1d9-44f2-b228-e17f5aa0db65
Tks, but I thought for you. It's a bit too modern for me as I want to ride the CBT days... but looks a fun bike
Looks suspect to me - 12k road miles and “can’t be put back on road” - why not? It must have had a V5 at one point. Otherwise, standard 848 (with shit original brakes) without lights. Not worth it.
