The World Cup In Qatar (no Spoilers Yet)

  1. If England can hit the ground running (which they didn’t against Senegal) and not go down to an early goal (or 2), anything is possible. Andy

  2. Imagine how unbearable "we'd" be if Ingurlund ever won another world cup.

  3. Yeah, cos the last few years have been so uplifting, we wouldn't want people getting carried away.

  4. We dont need any more flag shagging right wing nationalism either tbf

  5. Speak for yourself Red. Many English football fans love the game and not all of us are arrogant.

    Etc…

And if England win they’ll still be making commemorative coins 100 years from now (although that might take some heat off London 2012 and/or the queen dying)

We’re unbearable winners at everything let’s be brutally honest Viva la France!!

  8. Well, well, well!!! It looks like we’re having ourselves a nice « chtok » (the football version of the rugby « crunch ») this Saturday!

Will it be Patay or Azincourt this time? :D

  9. Crecy, Poitier or Waterloo without the bloodshed obviously is my hope, might be the siege of Orleans.

  10. Wonder if it’s our ignorance that’s compensated for with arrogance, we have lost more wars to the French might be why we crow so much about individual battles.

  11. If they do not perform….off with their heads!

Whatever the result, as long as they give 100%

I sort of have a foot in both camps now..so I get two rolls of the dice to back a winner!

  12. Without wanting to make a sweeping statement i often get the impressions a lot of them are lower league halfwits whove never travelled abroad with the club team they support.

  13. France are definitely a step up in class. This is the business end of the tournament. Can England turn France over on Saturday? Of course they can. But I certainly wouldn’t put my house on it!! Exciting match… C’mon England!!

  14. Should England bear France
Yep, no blood would be much better. Football is not about how big a beating you can take and keep going, unlike rugby.

On a side note, Poitiers was not between France and England, as England did not exist yet, in 732 ad. Although one could argue that Charles Martel and his captains were fighting the « Saracens » off! :D

Édit: My mistake !! You must have been hinting about the 1356 battle of Poitiers. Which was indeed a French bloodshed…

  17. England will take any victory they can claim, even if other teams are involved.;)

  18. As maybe but there’s a vocal segment that seem to prefer flag shagging more than the actual game. I love football but IMO England fans particularly the travelling contingent are an embarrassment.
