Hel Rear Master On Hyper 1100

  1. Not posted for literally ages (well, in here anyway...) My hyper's rear brake has always been a pain in the arse - the best i could get the fitment was loads of lever travel and not much braking. Or a really small amount of play an it binds up.....anyway ive not spent anything on it for while so got a hel rear master...got it off ebay 10 quid cheaper than the "show price" a few weeks back....Its a normal install but just a couple of things to note first and foremost the master doesnt bolt straight on....youll need a couple of spacers.... as the cast of the master doesnt allow it to sit on the rearset...i happened to have a couple of spacers left over from a vesa TV mount (never throw anything away...)

The other thing is ive got a HEL hose on their...just a stock one....not the end of the world but its a tad too short and as you can see im pretty sure it needs a 45 degree fitting on the end....

It works for the moment but ill be getting another one at the end of the month...not been out on it yet but it does seem to be better...rear caliper coming next...

  2. That HEL hose looks a bit tight. What happens to it when the suspension moves to full travel?

  3. No idea...not been out on it yet!....as i say....gonna order another one anyway....

  4. Good to see your still modding comfy!!

  5. That looks great, and I am a big fan of an HRC short reservoir tube!

  7. 20230326_131847.jpg 20230326_124116.jpg 20230326_112341.jpg Bit of a re-jig....brake lever was catching the heel guards and, i came by a rear hel Caliper - so, took the brembo off of the zed (its had 6 years of hard labour) and is starting to corrode so to minimize that ive transferred to the hyper as thats a dry weather use only bike now....

The other thing i did was file off a tiny bit of the rearset so i dont need the spacers anymore...not been out for a test ride yet but all feels good....
