https://youtube.com/shorts/XNQtqSDWTL8?feature=share Hi guys, haven't start the bike since October last year. Had the batter charged over night. It doesn't seem to attempt to turn. Does it look familiar to anyone?
On a battery saver/trickle charger after you parked it up or just left connected to the bike. It would seem likely that the battery was fully drained by an immobiliser/alarm. Which will invariably mean the battery is screwed. Did you check the battery before/after charging, because at first glance that seems like your battery hasn’t got a full enough charge to be turning the engine over at all.
Thats what i hope too. Ive ordered a new one and should be w me tomorrow so will know for sure. Back in October was working fine, always started first time. It is the original battery though so 8 years old since 2015 reg. I have a ctek but because I don't live where I keep it I only typically put it on the night before I want to ride (which is not that often).
I think its fucked mate and you should sell it to me. Does it have underslung termis out of interest?
i think once a battery is completely flat its damaged, a recharge will get it working but eventually it will let you down, my neighbour is always recharging something because he's too tight to buy a new one
yeah that's battery sometimes you can have a dead cell in the battery, so it 'looks' like it has okay voltage but as soon as it tries to draw load, the battery just can't deliver anything more than basic ignition ampage
In the Ducati dahboard menus, you can access the Battery voltage (labelled BAT). Might be worth a check if you can't get a meter on battery.
you can but it might look 'ok' and not be due to a damaged cell. You need a mulimeter across the battery, measure it and it will probably say 12v, if when you hit the starter it just instantly drops to almost nothing, or like 2v, it's a clear sign it's a dead battery. I was always told that a good battery should be able to still show near 12v when under that initial load, or if it drops, it shouldn't drop off too much.
It was the battery. Once fitted started immediately and now off for the first ride of the year. Complimentary picture attached. Cheers guys.
Your avatar suggest London, I don’t go there much admittedly but I don’t recognise the view nor the fact in sunny.
